As soon as I saw the monk skills available, I knew I wasn't going to bother for long today.

mmm eda isn't actually a problem cause of the lack of spear skills, but the monk skills... lol. Well rits got it good today, even got a skill to counter all the interrupts. But today has been pretty boring, long fights all day.

If you are having trouble dealing with Blockway, give Hundred Blades a shot, it does a number on clumped groups of /W chaining Protector's Defense.
Also, Paragon/Ranger with pet helped our team immensely with condition removal, and allowed our Monk to take Empathic over Restore Condition, even with EDA around.

All right. Fun day for monks, they got competition in the form of derv healers. Pious renewal is going to give monks a run for their money, but monks also have scribe's insight as e-management. Of course you can take healing hands but then everyone will just lol at you. Main form of healing is going to be via gift of health and signet of pious light. Best team seems to be 1x rt/p with warmonger's, 1x d/p blind bot, 1x r/p with a healer of some sorts. Variations include paragons or some type of war.
summary:
If you're not going /d or d/ to heal or /p to do dmg you're going to lose. END.
{Personally think the soulbind necros and vor mesmers are weaksauce, never had trouble outhealing soulbind (vital boon), signet of pious light owns diversion and pious restoration screws vor. }

People seriously need to undergo a paradigm shift with regards to Codex. There is nothing preventing you from running no backline whatsoever, and on a day like today it can indeed be effective. Today's meta lends itself to running as much damage as you can and blowing up everyone running a gimped backline derv.
Magehunter Smash, Water Trident, EDGay, and Flesh Wound. Physicalway makes for such quick, brutal matches.

No backline != no defense. If I was actually able to play more than the half dozen games we shitstomped in yesterday then I'd imagine 20 wouldn't have been much of an issue.

Whoa you won 6 matches?!?!?!?!?
Today the deck is pretty unfun, lifebond monks with balth spirit and bonetti's defense, mindblast eles with life bond or rit heals, the only enchantment removal being lyssa's balance.
Decap warriors because the only way to get kills is by doing 'spikes', no dual attacks for rangers, no decent spear attacks, PBlock but not enough good mesmer skills to fill up a decent bar.

I think you meant to say no dual attacks for sins, cause like rangers never never have dual attacks(dual shot lol). But the problem then is that there are two dual attacks for sins >_>; Yeah i agree with you though, today's builds seem pretty bad dmg wise. Necros looks pretty decent though... in slowing down games even more >_<

Real issue today were dual bonds and monks Defenders Zeal (my guild has done about 50 consecs with that build), lots of people tried to copy us but the just missed the whole concept backgrounding the build :P

Was it you I played with Morgoth as I played with cdex earlier (I'm from codx)? Everyone tried to copy the build as we were playing but as you said, missed the point of it.

Is it really that hard to believe people have RL shit to do? There are going to be days where it's more advantageous to throw a bit of defense on four offensive guys, rather than try and mash some terrible backline guy together. I believe that that day was one of them, and though I couldn't play for long enough to test that properly, 6 flawless before disbanding should be a pretty good indication that such a build is at least viable.

Today's:
P/R R/P Rt/P (or N/P with PoD) all with spears and two pets even comfort animal (lol) prob best to run with pugs.
Ele Nec Mes soul barbs spike (soul barbs defile flesh parasitic accumulated pain mirror of ice water hexes inepititude) needs vent and guild
Savannah heat snare Ele/N Enfeebling Blood Stoning (needs 16 fire) with magehunter war and channel rt for guilds only.
Yes good skills today, builds that pugs can win with but if guilds really try they can beat too.

Heal as one+feral agression+Feral lunge beastmasters, faintheartedness necros, P&H or empathic removal monks, lots of damage, shitty monk heals, so ppl ran /Rt as midline with warding. Wasn't even half bad, monks tended to rage though because their bas were baed.
Self heal on damage dealers saved the day for us, and good strips for SoA. Bad day for EDA nothing would stick so couldnt be assed with running those (luckily).
Seen some warriors with 2 interrupts on their bar, and spirit spammers, but they did really badly.
Whoever stomped the enemy monks first was made, so the tactics were kinda dull.
