Heh, that's exactly what I thought as well. Better not start at all if you don't know where to begin.
I only played CA on the first day, been busy with CB ever since, but it seemed very good. People who moan that you can't run standard wikibars just don't get it at all and probably won't even after you explain it to them either.
I'll probably post more constructive criticism after a while. I need some time to get used to the arena and it needs to "settle" a bit before anyone can pass a final verdict. So far I'd say the biggest nuisance is that you can't see all skills available at once. You have to map in and out with different professions to figure out what the elite skills are, that seems extremely clumsy. Fix it!

the monk bar is actually pretty beast today. but there is a predicament.
mo/a great self defense, but you'll run out of energy pretty fast
mo/me great bar, but you'll get trained to death in 30s

New meta! Team of 1: derv, 2: monk, 3: sin, 4: necro.
Shattering for sin, reaper's for derv, bip for necro w/ withering aura and monk has blessed light, gift of healing, mend condition. Sure monks might have condition removal, but there's no point now with the enchant applying conditions every other attack. Necro is support and disruption. Some other variants seen are r/me (blackout ranger) and p/me(cruel spear snare).

i think the best streak has been had so far from the japanese, they've stomped everyone:
a/n withering + shattering (strips defensive derv enchants + bip + applies weakness)
d/r reaping sweep, run as one (fat dmg)
p/mo with mending refrain and cruel spear, possibly no monk skills (fat dmg with weird support)
mo/w (keeps the team alive for 2min)
if you can sustain their dmg, their monk will run out of energy. but we couldn't do it with bip, 4 copies of armor of sanc and withering aura spreading weakness.
so good luck!

Damon sets the meta for Codex everyday.
It's actually quite noticable that when he doesn't play, there is no Codex meta. Then, when he does play, there's one single meta build for the rest of the day.
Damon is a fag.

So cool that there's a meta in place 12 hours before I get to play.

the current meta = stale 8min games where one kill wins. hopefully a team can crack the defense of the monk + rt backline without sacrificing their own defense.

I actually think this is another issue with Codex right now. Whenever ritualists are good, the meta becomes a game of mega defense. So basically 90% of the metas we have had so far are either EDAway or Defenseway. Pretty boring really...I've already mostly quit.

yes this is pretty much true. the rits can add great support heals, condi removal and prot weapons. however some days monks will probably be so subpar, people won't run them as primaries.

Played monk/rit/warrior/paragon last night when the deck today first came out, and almost every match was painfully long. A lot of the better teams that had both a monk and rit and 2 physicals as well we ended up drawing because nobody could kill. Didn't have the time to switch and try and just beat those teams with 3 physicals + monk but I don't even know if that would be enough to punch through monk+rit teams.
I agree with the people saying something needs to be fixed with this. There needs to be tools to get through super defense in some way. Whether that's increasing the amount of skills in decks (especially prophecies classes like in Kaon's thread) or something else, it seems like this same meta is going to be present almost every day.

The things keeping you from 1 monk team - stunning strike and armor of sanc - are NF skills, the wide suggestion to lower nf/para skills would go a long way.

It's not that teams WANT to run super defense. I think on day one or two it was actually the opposite, it was gg before you warmed up.The limited choice of skills and synergies allows a cruder tuning on the defense/offense setting, you just can't get that ideal ratio with crappy skills.

Make it 5v5, as Reverend Doctor suggested. If it doesn't work better, they can always just switch it back.

You hate EDA?
Wait for Gift of Health day to come again, by that time people would figure out how leetsauce it is in constrained meta. (9 healing prayes, casters/derv/sin taking it, nothing dies. Ever.)

5vs5 would indeed work much better if you want quick match resolution.
It centrainly works well in constrained CB arena which is not much more different from CA ... except one type is caping and other is deadmatch

today's OP builds:
dshot WoH way: eda derv, dshot ranger, MB ele + monk
hexes + fire: mez, nec, ele + monk
5v5 i think would lead to many dual backlines + defensive character which sounds pretty stale in my opinion.
