auspicious + shatter hex
drain enchant
its the only way i could manage using B Light. it worked well against the hex teams, but now there's lots of frontline heavy builds.

If the opposing team spreads the damage between you and the other party members, there is no way you can survive it with Blight, it works decently against hex teams, but now those aren't so common, mostly the cripslash +blindbot +vor teams, or 2 r/a's or a/r, with SaO +pets, and sometimes Barbs necro.

OP Class of the Day? Blindbot Dervish, shutdown the opposing melees amazingly well. And if the other team has one? It's whoever Swift Javelins the other Blindbot first that wins.

As long as the bot that is shutdown is too stupid to call for a blind removal.

I tried loads of combintions and none of tem survived against the better teams, and I'm a decent monk.

What.
BLight is fine, as long as you're meeting the clauses it should not be killing your energy. 10e for a good heal, hex remove, and condi remove is fine.
Melee damage is negligible. Or should be, because you have EDA, remember? Who has >two< cover enchantments.
Hex removal in this sealed deck is scarce. Aside from BLight you have:
Shatter hex.
Kudos. So you're going to try to face hex overload builds with >Shatter Hex< as your removal?
Good luck with that. Don't spam Blight as a heal, carry EDA for damage mitigation, and blow up the 3 or 4x squishy hexways with your high melee damage. How do you see ANY alternative to Blight?

This is mostly true today. I got bored fighting blindbot after blindbot. Another strong build is shattering assassin, but half the reason that is good is to help remove opposing ebon dust. Overall a pretty boring/annoying meta today.

The Assault Enchants sin is also strong because it gives you a way to shutdown the best non-physical damage atm, which is the SF ele. Run AE for fire eles and dervishes, run EDA for physical teams, if you face a mirror it's a race to rip EDA first and not have your ripped.
The only other thing I see working, and this is only with mediocre EDAs, is petspam with hexes. Which is fine until they all take Death Blossom damage and die. Or all get blinded. Etc, etc, etc.

too much builds wars today, kinda like a rock paper scissors sorta game atm for monk builds. Take blessed or shatter hex and get rolled by melee, take healing light and stances and get rolled by hexes...
i used a d/a zealous vow dagger build and everytime i saw a d/p we would inevitably end up autoattacking each other and he would try to cover his enchants while i tried to rending touch his ebon. Matches dragged on for way too long. Also, i would like to say mind shock eles were pretty underrated today, really dangerous spikers.

Unless the dervish was good and blinded you before you could get your combo off. Or got a lucky guardian block then blinded you. Am I right?
PS: 7~8/10 at today having a >near perfect< EDA build. I know there's strip and flesh wound to deal with it, it still makes me a little mad.

FUN FACT! EDA will pop up, on average, in 1/3 of the Codexes!
Isn't Codex Arena SUPER FUN?
Seriously. EDA is, in my opinion, too powerful a skill in 4v4 arenas, esp those where non-melee damage is unreliable (eg, solitary hexes are all you have, or easily mitigable fire damage), or the counters to EDA are difficult to bring (Rend)
I might be biased, because my favourite classes in the game are easily para and warrior, but in my experience whenever EDA pops up, every successful build revolves around how to shut it down effectively, which often takes more effort than it should for one skill, albeit an elite skill.

Hahahaha. Cool now we finally have our first case of a need to balance around Codex arena. Let me sit back and get my popcorn.
