Dazed in Random Arenas
Lately I seem to be getting pwnd by being dazed in RA, while monking.
Other than having a 20% daze shield that I switch to, is there any other tactics to use?

It's just like anti-melee in PvP where Necros and Mesmers spam Empathy, Spiteful Spirit, Blind on melee foes. It's getting gay. For dazed just bring a condition remover.

Go Mo/W and bring like 4 blocking stances with WoH, Dismiss condition, patient spirit, and a hex removal. Maybe 3 stances with a res if you dont feel secure enough.

Most of the dazed you run into in RA is Paragon and Assassin daze. It doesn't last very long and is quite managable. Broadhead Arrow and Concussion Shot are the nasty ones.
Luckily, neither of those are as common as the shorter duration dazing skills.

If it's BHA, nothing is easier than dodging it.
It's likely you get hit first time, but then you can just kite around and pay attention to the usage of it the next times.

Short dazes like beguiling haze it's best to just use patient spirit until it expires. Longer dazes like BHA and spear swipe you have to try to clear, the easiest way is a tactics stance to protect yourself while activating the removal. If you don't have that though using a prot staff with 40% HCT helps too, it will bring the cast time back down to normal when dazed, just have to cancel until you get the half cast.
It's too bad the hoards of rangers with the usual mend touch don't help out dazed teammates often, it's so easy to do =/

Stop running WoH because people say it's good, it's nice and all.
But a full prot build is powerful and RoF laughs at daze.

from how i understand it, you have to have the daze shield equipped at the time the daze is applied, swapping shields after the daze is on you has no effect. im surprised noone has said this already unless im completely wrong?
as for the daze once its on you. when i monk i always have vigorous spirit and patient spirit. if you keep vigorous up on all your teammates, there is enough barpush from that to sustain your team while you fiddle around. count the hits on you and use patient immediately after a hit and you should be within the gap between hits and not be interrupted. make sure to cast with the appropriate wep set while daze. 40/40 heal set, 40/20 20% prot stave for dismiss/m touch.
i personally find the -20% daze shield to be of very little use. i dont even have one for my monk. the 10v xxx damage type helps you take less damage so you can manage yourself under daze with spearing through vigorous.
its neat that someone mentioned the rangers with m touch. when i ranger in ra, i ALWAYS help my monk out with m touching other people to keep the blinds, deep wounds, and dazes off. just ask at the beginning of a streak if your ranger could help you out if you ping something. its amazing how far a please can get you.

you should REALLY read what the daze condition does. you want me to cast a 1.5 second spell without getting touched? yeah ok captain.

meanwhile your teammates get a taste of the ground. flawless logic.

this is so ridiculously ineffective. do this if you're really, really bad. that way your ineffectiveness will balance out with your badness and kind of play leap frog with one another. it'll be fun i promise.

prot is king in RA, it takes 10 wohs to outheal RTL spam, stoning spam, and constant backfire/vor chain, but only takes one spirit bond to keep alive.
so, bottom line, there isn't much you can do about daze. paragon daze eh. you can keep your team alive with patient/rof for a few seconds. BHA, when covered with poison, someone's basically hitting the ground unless the ranger's really stupid. but if you get hit with BHA more than once in a match it's your fault, cause that shit moves slooooow and is very easy to dodge.
