Question About an Idea
I got an idea for a new fame gimmick build that should be simple to use but to keep it simple the monks would have to be on the top in slots 1 & 2 so before I try it and post it I would like to ask is that to much of a pain to get the monks to do every thing backwards at 1 & 2 instead of at 7 & 8

What does the position of your monks in the party panel have to do with your build?

3-8 should hit there number, so they are taking monks and the eles, necros, mesmers and other softer targets. Could be done with monks at bottom but then u have to spend time typing who hits what to start, its upposed to be quick and easy

I would have to assume that you will be playing a monk and in spot 1 because if it is your build idea and you are PUGing it, then you need spot 1. So you can answer your own question, are you going to be playing a monk? If you are not, then this wont work, never give up lead spot if you are the one organizing.
Also a lot of teams use Henchmen, and I imagine on double fame this will hold true also, so if you are planning on organizing your team in such a way that it is important to line 7/8 up with monks then you will have problems there also.
I am guessing your gimmick is all the same bar though so it probably doesnt matter.
Anyways I dont know how braindead people are these days, but I certainly hope it doesnt matter the order of your teammates. Also if your idea takes off and people copy your new teambuild ordering system then their monks will be on 1/2 spots.... uh oh

wooo buddy, this sounds like a winner...
throwing monks out of their normal positions can through off their normal rythym some, creating slightlly delayed reactions.

Oh no! Where is our monk?! He's not in #7 or #8, he's in #4! We are doomed!
How does that throw off a team coordination. If you want to make it harder for teams to play, have random arena heroes ascent.

I tend to autoclick 8 when I want to cast on myself.
Also, is the spike is not on 8, my reaction is to auto-infuse.
So me being on any spot other than 8 (as a HB) would probably result in me not infusing the nr8 (or slower than usual anyways), and trying to infuse myself is the spike is on nr1.
I can prot fine on any position. But if I were to play on a certain spot for +-30 minutes, I can get used to it.
Problem is, pugs already suck as it is. Bringing them out of their already bad habbits, would only result in them sucking more.
1) Why not run E/Rt's? (Their position in party hardly matters)
2) Does it really matter? I assume your build is supposed to kill them relativly fast, hence you could prolly survive with just a HB monk spamming heal party's.

Certain quick reaction skills that cannot be cast on one's self (infuse, rc) are the main reason monks prefer a position at one end of the party list. 7 & 8 became the tradition as opposed to 1 & 2, although I don't see how it would be any different.

Personally, I prefer monking from the first slot, but most teams won't let me

Good monks don't need to be trapped in just 7 + 8 spots. They can manage their entire party and watch the field fine from any positions in the party list.
