i use mel's shot, works well enough minus the crippling bow in RA, so i don't bother with crippling sets there.

Why would you waste your elite on a conditional snare if you claim the condition is never met? Seems pretty terrible.

Seriously? i claimed the condition would never be met?you realize mel's shot is useful even when things aren't kiting right? y'know, when a retarded ass wammo is trying to stab my monk or mesmer to death, or when you get a jackass runner, or when i'm being chased. mel's shot isn't 1 dimensional enough to be made useless just because opponents aren't kiting.

Except according to your earlier post your monk and mesmer don't kite. Meaning your wammo friend won't be meeting the condition either. Now you have an elite snare which can be used for self defense or mopping up idiots who try run away.
Don't get me wrong, melshot is an amazing elite. But in an arena where movement counts for little, and many people have difficulty with the concept at all it's something of a wasted elite.

If it was a wasted elite, i wouldn't be using it. point is, even in RA Mel's shot is very useful. the 99% was obviously an exaggeration.

meh, if you are going to hang about in RA, I would try all the different gimmicky builds to learn about the different classes and get a feel for who you are playing against (while you play as a true ranger - crip shot, mel shot, etc). Try a pet build (bunnythumper), dagger ranger, a scythe ranger, one of the many R/W variations...it's RA so it's not like there is a coordinated team effort except for the 1% of times when you are paired with a full team of people who know what they are doing...Mix it up is my suggestion. It doesn't take long to get a feel for interrupting, but it takes a long time to be really good at it imo.
Once you have a feel for what you like to play, then I would suggest the true ranger route in more coordinated team formats, GvG, etc.
