Wow, I am so bad at this place. Nice concept but totally not for me I think.
The only games where I was good in where like dead locks going on forever.

Sealed Deck is exactly what you're all bitching about - limited, random skills.
Stop bitching and play it. It's not this idealized byob thing you all think it's supposed to be.

What exactly would a win/loss record accomplish, especially since there is no ladder?

If your games are going to time, then you need more damage. My group was pretty much running 3 offensive characters+monk, and matches were over in 0-4 minutes, even against teams with a monk and rit.

if that's your problem with the format, then all you have to do is play, the devs already said they would add a ladder if the format catches on.

It seems pretty entertaining so far. Just went 25 consec and then lost. I'm really glad that the skill pool is changing once a day. Anything longer than that would be way too much.
I'm really hoping they add ladder/ATs though, that will make it a lot more entertaining to play than it already is.
ALSO PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE AN NPC OR SOMETHING THAT GIVES THE SKILL LIST FOR THE DAY INSTEAD OF HAVING TO SWITCH CHARACTERS FOR EVERY SET OF ELITES.

I never got past 4 wins, because 5th match would always be against a team that had a build that out did ours. Whether it was mass KD/cripple/weakness or hexes.
Mo/W+Me/Mo with Blind+ Wounding Derv + something else teams are going to win a lot. Simply because the condition removal skills are horrible, monks can't remove hexes from themselves unless they are enchanted. I'm probably just bad, but I was having a hard time thinking of a good build to face some of the builds I saw..and what sucks about that is, if you plan to be anti one build, a build thats anti you comes along. So it's hard to win a lot unless you get really lucky with the match-ups or have been doing TA/GvG for the past 4 years.
So there are some things that I would like to see Anet adjust, but it's pretty fun for a tiny bit for a while. A random arena version of this would be cool too. But as we see when people leave teams, it doesn't work right. (IE We had 2 warriors earlier).
So I'm happy this isn't as much fun for me, means more costume brawl.

I'm having the exact same experience.
After 4 matches my team gets steamrolled.
I managed to score some title points, but I must admit, we've been paired with teams that were weaker against our builds.
Also: teams with rit+monk = very hard to beat (unless they really are clueless).
My take after a couple of hours is:
nice addition to GW, I really like it. I won't be dedicating too much time though. When the novelty will wear off it will be harder to form a team, it will be harder to get points (the title is another grind... come on Anet, if you really didn't want to make it 1 win = 1 point, why not making 3 wins = 1 point? Maybe it was easier to duplicate the RA rewarding mechanism, but really...)
BTW, nice addition, apart from the small things I mentioned (which will keep me from playing it too much), I really find it a neat idea nicely implemented.
Gz Anet.

Wow.....replace HB and TA with another TA that has a DAILY META...why not just replace TA? Now the only 1v1 pvp is dead and gone and a lot of people quit. Plus, i see the discriminating crap G3+ going on like in HA. Thanks for excluding players and deleting a honest 1v1 battle arena where if you lost it was your own fault. EAT A BALL PARK HOT DOG AND CHOKE ANET TECHS!

rank discrimination is not anet's fault, its the community's. if hero battle was not a dead format, plz explain rr day, or rolling before it was nerfed.

I would bet that in a couple weeks, when the novelty of having a new arena wears off, CA will be a ghost town.

umad?
If you don't like people wanting to play with people with glad ranks (experience in 4v4), play with friends.

A necro instead of a Rit can absolutely dominate bad teams. Even a Mesmer is pretty insane. Although clearly today WS derv has it above the rest.

All look interesting, I only have one problem: Because I play GW in a very casual way, I didn't liked the need to make (organized) teams. I was expecting (at least) something like TA, when you were able to just enter a match even with an incomplete or even solo team (and the game make the 4 players team automatically), or even better, something like RA with limited skills. I mean, you login and go!

That could be an issue depending on what they set the title levels at. It was always a big complaint about the Gladiator title when it was 10 wins in a row for a point, so they halved it to 5 wins but increased the title level requirements 4 fold, that's why you don't see any maxed Gladiator titles out there even after all these years, they totally screwed that. Lets hope they set the levels a bit more realistically with the Codex titles.

Didn't read the whole thread, but would like to point out that pious assault is a melee attack, not a scythe attack (despite being in scythe). You can go w/d and take dw on any war without problems. Though, i still wouldn't take axe twist. I ran it with sever and sun and moon on a sword warrior.

I just thought of this and I really hope that ANet considers it:
For ATs, it would be really fun if the deck changed each round. So every AT round you would encounter different skills and have to make a different build.
That would at least keep ATs incredibly fresh and interesting.
