Default BBsway tactics

I opened this new thread to speak about the tactics of a bbsway team, and not only for the prisms. Some of you could think its a noobish thing ask tractics for a simple team like bbsway, but I dont think so. Because there IS a difference beetween good sway and bad sway, and it is not only because bad sway are made of bad players. So even if you think there is few thing to say, and obvious, please say them. Repetita juvant, for who can speak a little latin.

1) First of all Prism or rituals as healer? and which ritual? Oos or spirit channelling? (i think maybe the second one is better, cause you have not to split your attributes in channeling also, but I'll wait for your opinion)

2) Second. Is it better the two trapper version, or the pnh+ritual version? In what extent?

3) What is the better tactics for warriors? Should the change their target fast? Press the backline? Camp the mesmer?

4) What about temple and shrine? What should one do in your opinion?

This is just to start the discussion. Feel free to add ingredients to the recipe!

There is not a difference in a good "sway" and a bad "sway". Anyone who contemplates running SWAY automatically identifies themselves as a terrible player.

I was not looking for your approval on the build I chosen to play. If you do not want to contribute to the discussion, just do not write.

Disagree with the above, there is a difference between a good and a bad bbsway. But the truth is that the build is simply so powerfull, there is no need to be good at it. Even terrible BBWarriors will eventualy get kills solely because it takes one good combo to potentially get a kill.

1) Rits are better, prisms are easier. Rits would require some form of weapon swapping (OoS), and can't use a stay alive skill when spiked. Spirit Channeling when you have NR and Tranqility?

2) PnH + Rit hands down. The dual trapper build could mob the floor with balanced, the PnH and Soul Twisting spammer can do the same, and simply not die at all. The build is redicilous.

3) Since 95% of the damage is armor ignoring, it really doesn't matter what you hit. As long as you don't hit people with prots on them (Or Warding/Shadow), you'll be doing big damage and eventually scoring kills. Knocking Monks at every opportunity is always better.

4) You have 3 BBwarriors who can kill any typical HA bar one on one. It really doesn't matter what you play or how you play it, you should not loose Relic Run or Forgotten shrine. As long as the prisms can keep the team alive (follow damage), you'll win.

5) You're really getting too much into this. I know you 'don't care the build is lame' etc, but it is. There isn't much too learn about this build. The bars are easy, there is no tactics involved because you got 8 heavily compressed self-explanatory bars and the defence in the build is just off the charts. Don't mistake this for a flame, it isn't (I gave up on caring for swayers. If they wanna believe they are good at HA, so be it), I'm merely pointing out that whilst your build is good to learn the basics of HA (maps, etc), it's terrible to improve as a player.

You simply can not learn anything by playing a buttonbash bar. That's how "skill" works. You're body/mind will only improve if the situation requires it. This is how real life works, this is how Guild Wars works. (You won't get big if you don't work out.)

If your interested in farming fame, keep playing bbsway, or just about every other HA build nowadays. If you're interested in improving as a player, you should probably learn how to play frontline, buy a mic and start calling for your own non-sway teams. Either way, I hope this post settles your questions.

Ok, so personally I have never enjoyed playing sway builds, and tbh, if u want to get better at guild wars, you should try things that require more skill. However, assuming you are lowish ranked their ain't much point in that cos low rank balance is pointless. And in reply to William, I agree, it does make you a bad player.... but... this is a GAME, so ur supposed to have FUN, not rage on vent, and therefore, if u have FUN playing sway, then you understand the idea of a game more than players in rank 300 guilds who get raged at daily on vent for camping 40/40 sets...

So, to answer your questions without being too rude..

1) Prism vs Rts:
Prism is easier, Rt is impossible to pug. Therefore take prisms. Which is better? Depends what your facing, vs hexway Rts ftw, vs balance.... Rt is better aside from the high starting energy of prisms allowing you to stay alive longer if your worse and can only spam your skills. Rts, they require things like weapon swapping, pre kiting warriors, not eating bulls strike 24/7 etc... and in sway teams, u wont find that so stick to prisms.

2) Trappers, easier to kill, harder to monk against. PnH and Rt, ridiculously easy to monk against, much harder to kill. At least in my experience monking for balance teams. As I dont play them, have to ask someone else, but tbh... they both work and both require no brain.

3) http://www.teamquitter.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3484
Everything you said is all kinda wrong, u change target when you SHOULD change target (guardian, SoA, Aura, WoW, WoS) by listening and watching skill animations

You should fake out the prot which I guess is what you mean by change targets fast, that is a bad way to do it, for a good way to do it watch good wars in GvG on obs mode doing fake spikes (imaging being the prot monk and watch them and see when u get faked out)

Camp a mes why? If he has a brain he will use shield sets and u will never kill him, also he is retarded if he tries to cast diversion when ur about to use BB so if hes decent u will never interupt his skills.... so yeah, no point unless hes bad and if your facing a bad balance u will win anyway so go make some coffee instead.

Basically, fake out prot, dont eat WoS, Kill unprotted stuff, when monks are unprotted/no aura on the infuse make them regret being bad and sitting on 20/20/20 prot staffs. Oh and dont spike stuff sitting on shields, and make wars cry for being bad with frenzy

4) Temple + Shrine...
tbh, i have no idea, <3 facing BBway on temple when playing balance cos its easy win, u got no interupts so u wont ever run a relic, no AoE so u cant kill out blockers and if u have no PnH ur even more screwed... also SH rapes ur prism who is trying to block and you lose... so yeah run balance if u want more than 6 fame a run guaranteed (wow im gonna get complaints for saying that so... run a GOOD balance if u want > 6 fame per run)

Lastly shrines... be good, cap, take a good ranger who full blocks their ghost in 20 seconds and u win at bottom, abuse having dash on ur frontline and cap more than u kill as u have no real aoe to pwn top shrine... again ull struggle vs good balance teams

Courtyard... be good with song and pray other teams dont gank ya for being lame

Halls... get ganked for being lame by r9 balance tards who jump from UW and are sick of being beaten by BBway on fetid so get revenge by ganking you.

Any more questions?!?!?!

Pz out

Ty maverick and killing, you were quite exhaustive. Just not to make you wonder for days why we chose to play bbsway. It is just a matter of time (and monks ). We are a grown up guild, we people with 30-40 years old. We have not much time, and usually play a couple of hour at evening. We was not able to find a good prot for too much time, and for not spending 1 and half an hour to PUG the prot, that can be good or bad who knows, we decided to run bbsway, wich is easier to PUG. I think that in autumn we will return back to some balanced-like team, as we were playing before.

As a side consideration. I like to play the game with my friends. Depending on the time we have to spend and on the situation, we decide the team. We are not PRO. Just amateur. We usually have fun from the game. I already have a job, and I don't want to take the game too seriously. We are all rank 6-8 btw.
