Theres nothing more I can't stand than playing on Ancestral all day, with people who don't know how to follow, kill, or blatantly just play Guild Wars. Obviously Alliance Battles isn't a true form of quality PvP seeing as 1/4 people do not even have an elite skill on their bar. But it's just dreadful nowadays.
I've been Abing since Factions came out, and was never really serious up until a few months ago, I've noticed that the skill level on both sides is severely dropping. But Kurzicks, are just plain terrible. Sure a different or random map cycle would be nice. But it'd be a temporary fix to a more ever growing problem. People just don't know how to play Guild Wars anymore, it's not that it's their fault. But people don't know the advantages of meta's with skills that can output more damage.
Honestly, we don't need to fix the map rotation just the player skill. People should take more advantage of PvXWiki, or even Obs mode. Anet needs to teach people how to play better, and introduce PvP before you should be allowed to AB, GvG, HA, TA, RA.

In my oppinion balance is very slowly restoring.
On luxon side there hardly was a second district. Now that happens more often. More people with mobbing urges, also more teams without monks running arround that get themselves roadtailed.
The fact still remains that luxon side got more dual saviors who already seen / use a lot of tactics from both sides.
Good teams can make the match. It doesn't matter if it's a luxon or kurzick team then.
When the combat zquest is AB, the map goes more flexible. The Map is more likely to be beach or keys in that case. I do think the extra rewards draw many people (of both sides) out on those days.

Playing Grenz all day is equally bad. AB has always been dreadful. It's practically farming people. I have to say that monster bars are often better than what we see in AB. Maybe Abers could learn from monsters and not run pets on a Monk bar.

They've practically hit rock bottom a long time ago. You can't go any lower.

With loads of advice on the internet, it should be player's job to look it out for themselves. It's not rocket science, it just takes a little work.

True, but as a new player myself, how do I go about discerning the good advice from the awful advice?
An example, in a thread on the main pvp section of this forums, someone advices monks to use disciple's insignias, whereas, others say survivors.
As far as the map rotation, had I not read that there are five maps, I would not know, since I've only ever played three of them. Granted, I've only really started playing a lot the last 3 weeks.

I believe MasterSasori was referring more to the terribad bars that most PuG's roll in AB, and yet, think they're awesome.
In response to the runing of one's armor: there's a bit of leeway, really. I could be facetious and recommend running with shields against every damage type and condition, but that's unrealistic for most players.
Have you played in the last few nights? Kurzick AD1 has been a ghost town, with ragtag PuG teams getting rolled within 2 minutes into a match.

AB's peak time seems to be around 7-9PM GMT. or in other words, it's predominately played by europeans.
changing the map cycle would work, but rebalancing the rewards will fix it much more effectively. since AB is the most pvp-centric arena out of the three factions arenas, greatly increasing the balthazar factions gained will probably rebalance the two sides. it also attracts a much more suitable crowd than a bunch of pve'ers who run in with dolyak sig tanks.

This isn't really a case of good vs. awful advice, either disciples or survivor will work fine (disciples is better). Either one will simply be better or worse against different things, for example hammer warrior = disciples, mesmer = survivor.
It's pretty rare for there to be truly awful advice on guru, generally if someone gives a bad opinion the next few posts will be flame it.

The irony in this is that he was running shield bash on a primal rage bar, then clicking it right after I bull's striked him lolkurzick.

Thanks on point one.
Yes, I was on the last couple of nights, at one point there was only a member of [kill] and me in ad1 at Grenz, for a span of 10-15 minutes. . .after that I just left.

Thanks Z
Alliance Battles is completely "poop" for the Kurzick side, I tried to pug the other night and he had a somewhat awful build.. so I pinged him a MB meta bar I made for AB, he starts swearing at me, and calling me a newb. Another person I tried to pug loaded the build but didn't have 7 of the 8 skills (he had aura resto a skill you get in starting areas) he didn't even have fire attunement. I don't know how someone can play without energy management, much less half of the fire magic skills. I'm almost to the point where my g/f and I are going to have to DTSC because Kurzicks can't even spam skills. I just don't understand how people cannot read.

Wow you're really gonna troll me, you are one lame excuse of a person. You spam me with builds that have shield bash just because you eat it everytime you tried to backline me the match that we dominated you on.
Shield Bash on a primal rage bar in AB is anything but brilliant due to the fact of the high amount of assassins, dervs, and hammer warriors on Luxon sides.
You ate bulls strike many more times than I did, so i am guessing you must be hurt. I'll send the care bear package over right away.
Edit: I almost forgot, you also spammed by g/f saying that balanced stance was a waste of a skill. You claimed that return was better, I doubt it since most smart hammer warriors bring death's charge. If you're gonna flame people for beating you maybe you should find a more simpler form of PvP.

Played both sides again today, and yeah, PUGs are hell on the Kurzick side. Classic songs like "We don't need a Monk", "Speed cap group lf more" and "wtf Charge noob" (my favourite) are still being performed with enthousiasm, and it's unlikely to change anytime soon.
On the plus side, skill on the Luxon side actually seems to be decreasing. Maybe it's just me but except for some guild teams the red dots were disappointing to say the least, occasionally balling up to a solid mass of 8.
(tl;dr: THERE'S HOPE YET!)
I'd advise doing JQ/FA if it wasn't retardedly boring... can't even bring myself to do it

I have played both sides today for a while and I must say kurzicks are very, very, VERY disappointing, true there is a distinct lack of skill on both sides and tons of people run random builds but the amount of monkless kurz teams is amazing. Even the odd kurz guild team fail terribly.
You know the game is over when you see an ally who is A/R and is using a pet, that is so he can do his strike as one + poisonous bite to fuel sig of toxic shock *facepalm.

Nothing was done upon HA and GvG so it's hard to believe they'll do something in AB..
