Look at UWsc, the only reason why the Tway build are requiring stones to join some groups is because in that build if 1person fails, the entire team loses. FOWsc, they take any1 because 1person failing wont get the team to fail.

In the old Hero Battles, there was only 1 person playing in your team. That format was still shit, so your theory doesn't hold sense.
Guild Wars is a team game. Part of this is, in fact, relying on teammates. Now, I've wished more than enough times I could clone myself 7 times so I could form a team of only me and not be raging at someone for doing something incredibly stupid, but it's the nature of the beast.
Bad skill balance, not fixing of clearly flawed concepts (Relic, Cap Points and current altar cap) is what killed HA.

Tried to PuG in HA... since i have no rank yet, no one invited me to their team.
Tried to make friends with someone i saw in observer mode, pmed a few people, asked if i could guest sometimes or join them in HA with the easiest build they ping me... most of them didn't reply / replied 'bb' after i told them i have 0 hero/champ, some didn't reply at all, two (out of ~15) even blocked me.
Tried to form HA group in alliance... turned out we had one monk who insisted to go as a smiter with RoJ. What can i say, it's a PvE alliance.
If you want organised teams in HA, break your teams in two and start new groups, with rookies and low-ranked players; it's you who have to fix RA by teaching the newcomers and making the flow. Start a new guild dedicated to the cause or something, but seriously, there's nothing ANet can do before the HAers attitude changes. There are major technical flaws within HA, even i can see it as a total newb to the format, but simply fixing them won't attract new players.

Just as you don't want to play with your pve alliance that brings smite monks with no experience and unmaxed pve gear the HA regulars don't want to play with inexperienced and unranked players like yourself.
People play to win and farm fame, gimping their team by taking along "less good" people isn't helping their cause. This isn't an "attitude problem" it's called being rational. It is for Anet to create the incentives for new players to enter the format.
If you are dead set on fame anyway keep trying with your pve alliance. It will fail, fail and fail some more but that's the way most people did it. I wouldn't hold my breath for Anet to help you out, and certainly not the HA populace. Not meant to sound elitist, just giving you the facts buddy. Best of luck.

I think he would rather play a single player game as MMO's are usually not that.

As long as i would understand it completely if HA was full of people, especially noobs like me, isn't it HA regulars who cry that HA is dead from time to time?

I think a lot of posters are missing a key point...
You are not going to get fame, win matches, or have fun if you play with the average pub in HA.
You'll do about as well at first if you form your own team of friends and contacts, but with your friends you can actually improve. HA (and PvP in general) is not about going to PvX and finding a build, but being able to play effectively with it against a variety of challenges.

You aren't going to be able to pop consumables and have permanent IAS/IMS/immunity to crits/whatever other ridiculous bullshit cons do nowadays and steamroll the opponents.
You have to put in the effort. You have to not be bad at the game - it takes months of playing to get experienced enough with a bar or a profession to consider yourself "proficient," and months more to become "good." Guild Wars was founded on skill over grind, something the PvE crowd has never understood. If you aren't skilled, there is no alternative. There is no cons set. There is no paragon with Save Yourselves. There is no shadow form to make you invincible. There is simply you and your teammates being better at Guild Wars than the other team, and winning because of it.
The only option shitters have is gimmick play - they can beat other shitters with ranger spike or hex spam, but they'll still be rolled by the good players (which is how it should be). If you want to get a real PvP statue for your HoM and you despise the idea of not sucking, learn to love gimmicks.

Thats damm right. if you want to farm stuf in the fastest time you can think off go pve and do some speedclearing and if you wanna learn some real Guild wars that you cant speedclear ask high end pvpers for help alot of them are friendly if you ask nice and not when match starts or after.

I gotta agree with fierce and you for once , the problem is that the game relies too much on teammates now. Yet , hero battles had some problems yes ( some oppos can remember me in spamming all chat..) , but at least the win/lose depended mainly on yourself + it had a good tournament system.
Even if heroes were crap , you didn't lose because monk dced , because guy cannot use rez sig , because ranger can't rupt , etc.... and especially you could just go again after lose....
So well ye , i understand gw is a team game , but players mentality is part of what ruined HA too and having a format left such as HB would be nice....

As long as we're talking about 1v1 PvP, though HB was fun, i'd prefer an organised Polymock Arena.
Just sayin'.
