But seriously, are you staying kurzick or leaving your guild and coming back to the right side? I've chopped and changed sides over the last two years as guilds and titles dictated and I can honestly say the only times I've really enjoyed AB have been as a luxon. I did almost pure AB for a year as a luxon and hardly any AB for the following year as a kurzick, mainly due to having crappy ally teams which made the game too frustrating for me. If you play GW for the AB, can you really see yourself putting up with your allies on the kurzick side for any length of time, or is your loyalty to your guild enough to outweigh the frustration?

Recently my friends and I switched sides to luxon so that we could join an alliance. I've always ab'd on the kurzick side since Factions came out and always seemed to enjoy my fair share of wins. When we decided to do luxon ab it was nothing short of amazing. We went 9-0 the first night on Grenz and something like 7-1 the second night on the same map. I've never had that good of a win consistency while playing kurzick on a middle map like Grenz.

The only thing I can think that makes the Luxons generally better at AB than the Kurzicks, is that their are far less Luxons playing AB, and they seem to be a lot pickier about their builds. You'll see much more balanced 4 man groups on the Luxon side than you would on the Kurzick.

yep, thats true, thats why i hardly ever play ab

im nowhere a good pvp player but still a decent one compared to the ones roaming around at the kurzick side.

still its not too hard to win with my friends, the luxons dont do shit, but most of the time they are still bad players

its kinda sad that one competent 4 man team can dominate a 12v12 80% of the time

I don't know how its been recently, but in general my experience has been that Kurzicks lose (regardless of map) somewhere around 75-80% of the time in American morning and afternoon hours. It seems they do a little better in the early evening.

I AB'd today for the first time in a couple of months, and I have to say it was pretty horrifying. I played 8 or 9 matches and won two of them; of my losses only one of them was anywhere near competitive, the wide majority were like 50-150 within the first two minutes of play. I haven't paid a terrific amount of attention to the other Kurzicks' builds, so I don't know if that really is the problem or not but it seems like capping is a rarity. As someone mentioned earlier, most matches seem to start with the Kurzicks wiping, and then the Lux just camp the base steps and kill everyone as they come out one by one. I don't expect to win Etnaran Keys, but scoring more than a hundred points would be nice. When I AB, I find myself RQing more often than playing through to the end, which is a shame.

This is exagerated, I really think the luxon are nearly as bad as the Kurzick. There is a LOT of randoms no-ping no-monk lvl 6 pets teams on the luxon side too. When I join up some random luxon group without taking a lot of care of having a good team of 4 with me, I end up close to 50/50 win/losses.
I think it's more a 60/40 or 55/45 win/losses overall.

One side effect of the map advantage is that the Luxons end up right on the Kurzick doorstep immediately at round start. I found it frustrating because the few rounds I played as a Kurzick, I was unable to leave my base after dying once.

Strangely, even after being killed several times Kurzicks repeatedly run out into the mob sitting on their base.

Of course, when I'm Luxon I just camp their base and kill them one by one after all 3 of their teams wipe at start.

It's not uncommon to see Kurzick alliance teams wipe 4v4 to pugs right at start, presumably this is due to the "we don't need monks because ab is about capping" attitude. I find it kind of pathetic when opposing guild teams lack healers, but enjoy the bloodsport aka Balth farm.

Heh, I played a round last night where we had some guy basically leeching, spending 3/4 of the match spouting random shit in chat. When we lose I say something like "thanks for playing--oh wait no, you were chatting instead."

Then he spams all chat with something to the effect of you "you like dick" and I get kicked from my group for "drama." I forgot how hilarious AB could be sometimes. It's also the only form of pvp I think I've ever played where people call you a noob for trying to stay alive.

Also: ABed on Kurzick side last night, won 6/6 matches I played, including a couple where we sat on the Luxon doorstep. Finished my old AB quest at long last, thank heavens. I think playing with friends really makes a lot of difference.

The real ridiculousness lies in the fact that I usually play a monk. No, why would I want to 1v1 you? Really?

The opposite end of the spectrum - and I've seen this - is complete obliviousness.

Guy trying to kill teammate: "Hey. How'd you do that?"
Teammate: Do what?
Guy trying to kill teammate: Go back to full health so fast.
Teammate: ...there's a monk with me? *kills the guy
Me: *wave* Hi!

Guy manages to completely miss my presence for the next three fights anyway.

everyone who argues in this USELESS post should be castrated. IT doesnt matter what side does what. Its how the teams are formated, what matchups, what map, what skills. Sorry but in past experiences of facing both the luxon and kurzick guilds gave me an equal challange. You still gotta cap points, kill opponents who use iron palm, weaken knees or other generic cookie builds. Im no one to brag im only r8 kurz and r7 lux. Mod needs to lock this up cuz its just a flame war
