and i've seen a lot from this post that in order to monk u must mo/w cause everything else sucks? when i randomly get bored i go on my Hero Battle ZB Mo/A get my 20 or so wins and log cause RA is nothing but grind, vsing nothing but dif varrients of the same pvx build and those random PvE builds. I actually do welcome people attempting to bring in their own pvp builds though cause how do we move away from the meta if people only run the meta?
all in all to get anywhere in RA u must
Monk most of the time
Be one of the few lucky that get 1 decent monk
and realise 99.99 percent of the time your going to get complete nubs on your team and know how to compensate instead of just raging, 1 nub and 22 wins is better then going in and out for hours on end trying to find the dream team, only getting at most 7 wins.
eh wanna be good at RA? get a guild to sync RTL fame farm (guess u should call it glad farm) in RA since people cant even set up equip in RA now days...
|
agree with all what you said. Mo/El bar from Hero Battles is nice aswell (SoR ), but it's a bit hard to handle it in RA for long fights , and 3 necros 1 monk might beat it easily .

LOL j/p... j/p... I agree with your implication. A monk without effective utility will not get very far. If your physical allies have blind, weakness, and/or cripple, then the monk cannot expect to win without removing all of that. If a physical ally is weakened throughout the entire match, that means he/she has -66% damage the entire match and can't do shit! A good monk brings Draw Condition with him/her to remove pressure and enable their physical allies to attack full strength.

monks should use disciples runes, and draw weakness/blind/poison, so they have extra armor and and their frontline can actually kill something
one deep wound one yourself shouldnt be an issue, if u are semi decent monk
my favorite build for RA
patient/woh/guardian/draw/cure hex/viel/shield bash/bonettis
or for fun i play pnh and then at 10-15 win i then come against dual fire ele teams and get stomped fast cos it lack strong heals and redbaring

Reviving dead threads is fun? Though I agree the casters have are far more capable at just shitting out hexes or big armor ignoring damage than they should be.

Empathic removal and Magebane still seem to be the only two elites worth bringing on a ranger if you really want to play seriously.
Other elites can work but I find myself using those builds mainly for lulz.

Burning Arrow is still very effective in RA, lets you pump some pretty big damage.

Cripshot is a crapshoot. It's actually the best elite if you have one or two decent players on your team, but it's pretty miserable if you're the only one that knows how to create separation and exploit move speed differences.

I refuse to carry teams. I'd rather leave at 00:01 if my team's bad, even if we have a monk!

then you are just an azz hat its called random arenas because your team is random the least you can do when if you think you are "too good" for a group is finish the one fight and leave. Why do you feel the need to ruin the fun of others? these are the actions of a spoiled chiled

I usually just charge iin and suicide Leroy Jenkins style because:- no Mo/W in our team [no red bar go up, no win!],
- Inferior allies [i.e.: Sword W/Mo's with Orison, or Endure/Defy Pain, or 7 random energy attack skills with *already* short recharges on them all, etc.],
- but especially when the above two apply, AND we're faced against 4 syncers with identical guild tags (...like [zulu]).
Frankly, I leave at 00:00 mainly because RAers piss me off with their /resign-denials and grieving builds. Eye for an eye, mate! They screw me over, so why not screw them over too?

Exactly my point too. I agree as well a bit with Sirius Bsns. When i have a monk in team i do play whatever we have , but when we just have 3 melee + 1 ele or 4 melee vs monk team ( happens 95% of times when 4 melee ) or sync , it's just pointless and i just /Resign and suicide.
