My alliance is trying to setup a weekly HA team. When are the best times of the week to get into HA in a reasonable amount of time, without waiting in the zaishen room for 15 minutes?

Euro hours, especially on the weekends.
If new to HA you should probably wait until euros go sleepy so you can go cream all the Americans

There's only maybe 3/4 proper teams who form during dead times/american hours. And they're just as gimmicky as everyone else.

I'd suggest the opposite and play during the busiest time, which will be just before us Euros go to sleepy. Early evening for the west coast of America.

It'll let you get to grips with actual HA gameplay and map rotation.

Assuming you are American, I would recommend going on Heroes Ascent during the hours of 3:00-11:30PM [PST] mostly because that is when many European countries are sleeping or barely waking up.

Since your alliance is forming a Heroes Ascent group, I highly recommend using Ventrilo/Team Speak in order to communicate. It's pretty much a necessity if you really want to be victorious.

By experience , i would recommend you to only play between 8pm and 1 am GMT. You can go on a bit later maybe , but it's more likely getting 1v1 hall farms then and people start logging off....
