I think RA isn't fun anymore. Like someone said, it's now all about spamming blind and and aoe lightning damage (elementalist), draining the monk's energy out (mesmer) and having a dervish kill everything directly and indirectly, through aoe, conditions, damage, aka everything. With anti-blind skills to counter the blind abuse. Oh, and a monk, of course.
Sure, there are some good alternatives. Hammer warrior is cool, if it isn't againt a blind machine. Else warriors and sins = lol, while dervishes have their awesome anti-blind skills (and blind got buffed to counter them, lol). There's also strong alternatives to mesmer, there's necro, a good ranger when there's one, fire elementalist is decent... Anything else? Ritualists usually don't satisfy. And Paragons are lol.
That has been RA for me. There's about only 7-10 meta builds that win everything, most of them which are for half of the professions of the game.

For monks its worse, you either have some type of block or evasion or you're toast. There's no two ways about it. You're either Mo/D, Mo/A or Mo/W. Anything else is a PvE char.

And at the same time, I find stances and especially WoH too strong for monks. But you can't nerf them without nerfing all the other OP shit around.
RA needs a good meta-nerf.

its sad that they stopped doing huge skill updates to mix the meta up abit every month, this flux is not changing the meta at all.

I always thought Psychic Distraction was a sick bar to run. You can lock down sigs through walls, block stances, even Mantra of Resolve. It was so sweet seeing a dumb Rit pop Resolve, and still get all his spirits cracked. You know if they bring Resolve they hate getting interrupted. Haha.
Agreed though, still not as good as a ranger.

I would prefer small weekly/ 2-times a month updates that would tone down OP skills and slightly buff underused skills. Simple, and would probably do wonders.
Nerfing the meta (without making its skills useless - keep them as an option, but not as a necessity) would already make a lot of other skills used more frequently.
For the small size of gw1's staff team, it would probably be the smartest thing. They would do more with less.

I would prefer anything that isn't detrimental to the game. Personally I enjoy having people use meta so that I can spank them with non-meta but I often get annoyed when they tell you that you suck because you don't play like every one else.

No. The only problem is that most of too OP skills used in RA atm( Invoke , bsurge, grenth derv maybe, 3 rupts on a bar, some stances on big lines) don't fit at all a random format, but more like TA or Codex.... You clearly can't deal with those skills 99% of time if you get no support in team....
I gave up with the format few days ago, but most of my wins were against no monks( usually 30 sec fights), most loses were against 2 invokes + monk... rest of time i was getting facerolled with 3-4 melee.... And that's the case for maybe 70% of RA players, from what i asked in game....
Is that really fun ?? That title only relies on pure luck and i feel bad for people who got it from TA long time ago( kinda same for that guy who did r10 commander in a fair way compared to people who did get it in 5 days thanks to RR.....)
They should really reimplement TA with a similar glad title , and introduce costume brawl format for the ' random format' instead of RA.... Pretty sure people who won't agree with this are only RA syncers....

I personally don't think Invoke and Bsurge are OP, they are just over-used. Bsurge is too readily available to Eles, I think it should have a longer recharge or make them work in order to blind you. Things like "if target is using a skill, target is blinded" or something like that. Before the derv update Grenth could only do life steal in PvE right? I wonder why they changed that. Again, its just overused because its easy and people don't have to think, just spam. All Anet needs to do is make people work for it, in order for it to work for them.
