That's exactly my thoughts... People just stick with easy builds that pumps a lot of damage with not much risk involved... ( i'm even pretty sure people could still play invoke spike with no vent/ts)..
What's sad is builds gets more effective along years... Old iway/bspike( even if we consider R/D a bit later) were quite a joke compared to dervs and invoke today...
I guess let's wait until next thursday for the skill update, but i'm pretty sure nothing will be done to invoke..

Impact on builds for Flux 09
The 20% increase armour-respecting damage seems great, but does it make those spells more desirable than esurge and other skills that ignored armour rating anyway? For example, Spiteful Spirit/ Soul Bind vs Toxic Chill.

Adding +41% damage output will surely outshine any armor ignoring skill, especially since armor ignoring skills has been "balanced" for this without this flux.

Rather than making a twist in the current meta, this rendered RA unplayable for me this month, seeing as pugs cannot use shield sets to save their life.
