While I agree with you that he is indeed a fantastic henchmen, there are some out there that are superior. While my ideas and opinions are not "meta" and people out there won't agree with me, I have found that two of the best henchmen are Blenkeh and Kah Xan.
The pressure in a balanced team that Blenkeh can dish out and the raw party support with "The Power is Yours!", Mending Refrain and Finale of Restoration is incredible. Also, Wild Throw and Spear of Lightning almost promises a kill on 95% on spikes. You just have to know how to spike well.
As for Kah Xan, in GvG I like to play a split ele. Too often I have assassins on my team that can't WC the correct targets, or fail to land their attack skills fast enough to land a kill on split. Kah Xan, when positioned and instructed correctly manages to get the job done. He may do less damage without a conjure, but thats what the split ele is meant to be there for. Again, you just have good situational awareness on a split and he's better than 99% of the assassins out there.
I am interested on hearing peoples opinions about the other henchmen, as they are all fairly strong.

Blenkeh uses the gimped PvP version of Mending Refrain that offers no party support, so I'm just going to assume you have no idea what you are talking about, and there's a reason you are playing with assassins so bad that a hench missing half his full chains against stationary targets is better.

Redemptor Frohs is the best warrior henchmen! Don't believe me? Bring him to a match and watch him attack and cast while at melee range of foes. That guy definately hates monking.
Best henchie is clearly Luzy Fiera simply because her bar has nice damage and it complements well with the AI's ability to follow damage. She almost always hits multiple foes with rodgorts.

It sounds like you haven't tried using the Assassin henchmen almost at all. Maybe it's just your bad luck, but for me he scores his chain all the time other than when he gets shutdown, which your job at microing as split ele is preventing getting into that situation.

Trust me : henchs are all terrible, yet everyone believes they're too OP and shouldn't be part of PvP... The only thing i can agree with is that Bellicus is because he can do 3 tasks at same and his e-management from it is something no human can do probably...
Apart of that, here are some quotes :
- julyia uses balanced stance after being kded and most of time, she's running around not casting
- frohs is going melee if the hench controller is melee himself
- tannaros, lulu xan and others are missing almost every rupt( except when it's about 2 sec casting or more)
- vincent evan is using WoW on melee and bsurge on monks
- warriors IA is too awful to deal enough good damage... they're swapping targets randomly, not finishing off, etc....
The main problem for me is that you just can't micro them... too many times they mess up from bugs, too many times they stand or run in AoE although you flagged multiple times, etc.....
I will say that some henchs combined together can look OP ( i.e dirk + bellicus + julyia + frohs can hold your team for some time)... but if you look at meta builds which are about dealing AoE damages... then i do believe that there should be 3 flags at least to split diferent henchs...

The whole point of henchies is that they are bad so that people would never take them over humans like they did heroes. That's why Anet picked meta bars that are terrible with henchman AI (meta bars so that people would initially think they are good, yay contest winners!). There are some exceptions for example Luzy because she's straight damage and it's impossible to fail at a MB bar.
