Paragon Fun
I've been maining a Paragon for a while now, mainly because I enjoy the PvE aspect of them, but recently I've been trying out new builds in RA and I've had some successes, so I'll share the builds.
Paragon Tactics Turret
6 Leadership
11 Tactics
12 Spear Mastery
1 - Soldier's Stance
2 - Spear of Lightning
3 - Anthem of Flame
4 - "Watch Yourself"
5 - Resurrection Signet
6 - Barbed Spear
7 - Maiming Spear
8 - Blazing Spear
-Comments-
Generally, this was made for damage and stacking conditions for a spike. You can maintain Soldier's Stance with Anthem and gather Adrenaline quickly with it for the other skills. "Watch Yourself" is for tight situations and helps alot with the boost of armor.
-Counters-
General anti melee and blind condition.
Paragon Condition Killer
10 Wilderness Survival
11 Spear Mastery
10 Leadership
1 - Melandru's Resilience
2 - Spear of Lightning
3 - Anthem of Flame
4 - Poison Tip Signet
5 - Troll Unguent
6 - Resurrection Signet
7 - Barbed Spear
8 - Blazing Spear
-Variants-
Replace Poison Tip Signet with Apply Poison. (The energy cost is an issue, but it can be done with energy runes/insignias if needed)
Replace Troll Unguent with Maiming Spear to add crippling.
Replace Troll Unguent with Spear Swipe for Daze condition.
Replace Troll Unguent with Antidote Signet.
Replace Resurrection Signet with Signet of Return. (I highly don't suggest doing this in RA as this is a hard res due to the 5 second cast time, but in GvG it can be useful when played defensively.)
-Comments-
This is the build I've had the most success with and I have MANY variants of it. The ones I listed are my most common switches.
With Meladru's Resilience you pretty much have a REALLY good self heal and it is essential if you want to move in for Spear Swipe, especially if you go in early.
You will be able to effectively fend for yourself in most RA matches and provide support with conditions for spiking a single or multiple targets. Keep Anthem up when you can and use poison when necessary. The only downsides is that Melandru's only effects you and your attack damage isn't great. But this build shines brightly with stacking conditions, which is your primary source of damage.
Also to note that I have successfully tanked all four of the opposing team with this build. The more Hexes and Conditions that are on you, the faster you heal, which can be a very good diversionary tactic to get people off a Monk if needed.
-Counters-
General anti melee and blindness if you choose not to run Antidote Signet, however; either way, you can still heal and keep yourself alive great.
Paragon Support Condition Remover
4 Motivation
7 Spear Mastery
10 Wilderness Survival
12 Leadership
1 - "It's Just a Flesh Wound!"
2 - Anthem of Flame
3 - Poison Tip Signet
4 - Antidote Signet
5 - Resurrection Signet
6 - Barbed Spear
7 - Maiming Spear
8 - Blazing Spear
-Variants-
Swap "It's Just a Flesh Wound!" for Cautery Signet. (This allows you to remove conditions from the whole party at once instead of single targets. Then you follow up with Antidote Signet and VOILA! All conditions are removed from everyone, including you.)
Swap Antidote Signet for Troll Unguent for a self heal/regeneration.
Swap out Poison Tip Signet for Apply Poison.
-Comments-
Once again, another build for primarily spreading conditions, but this also helps the team greatly with condition removal. Depending on your play-style you can either choose single target or multi-target condition removals.
Spread the love around with Burning, Poison, Bleeding and Cripple while keeping your party alive with the elites. Your Monk will be patting you on the back for taking the load off them.
Hope this helped the up-and-coming people who are trying out Paragons and people looking for inspiration for new build ideas. Constructive criticism welcome.
