Someone was referencing the image I posted and I'm going to be 100% honest-- that was the easiest and -fastest- 25 wins I have ever gotten.
I'm not commenting on AoG or whether or not it's a good or bad bar, just on my experience as a monk during those matches. 75% of the matches lasted 45 seconds or shorter.
Normally I would be against the build as a high-pressure build, but they managed to kill hard and kill fast.
**Edit: Clarifying time reference. I play with the score chart up, so when I say 45 seconds or less this is not from the start of the match, but rather where the fighting actually started.

I suppose its time for people to run grasping earth on necros again.
always owned most gimmicks in TA (from fear me to shoveway).

Depending on who were playing shoveway...
Bringing utilities like grasping earth on a Necro is useless if you are the only person in the team who knows how to kite. Else you can just run a water ele with 6 snares and faceroll RA.

I've been running grasping earth on my necro since the change to shield bash. If you don't want to spec 9 tactics for disciplined (I never liked it anyway) then grasping is the next best thing since you can spec 6 earth and still have 12 soul reaping for the 2e FF breakpoint. I would also say don't bother with IP, run faint or faint + reckless.
If you just want to play anti-derv, this is mildly hilarious (isn't RA supposed to be?) but has little red bar down.

I'm probably just being very unlucky, but this irritates the crap out of me.
Whenever I'm not playing a monk, there's never a monk on my team. But if I play a monk, 80% of the time there's another monk with me.
I started to do RA 2 weeks ago (and PvP in general). In my first 3 days I got up to 19 glad. points but for the past 1,5 week I haven't managed to get to 5 cons wins in a row. Is this just me being very unlucky?

You don't need a monk. I just rolled RA with 2 dervishes an ele and a necro just fine. As long as you keep up the pressure it's not too difficult. Most people don't realise this though and just /resign whenever they don't have a monk.

You are right, you don't 'need' a monk, but you're far more likely to have a monk on your team, then have 3 teammates who aren't completely braindead like 95% of the RA'ers are.

If I see anything casting healing breeze I just /facepalm and stop healing it, unless it actually does something useful... which ofc never happens as it is often paired with almighty skills like flare or cleave...

it used to be/still often is a common skill on a pnh bar, but it was meant for TA, not RA, where squishies tank big doomage on their staff set.

You don't need a monk to win , but it's better to get 5 consec though....
Considering both your team and oppo are smart :
- You lose against 2 healer teams
- Against empathy/bsurge/stuff spammer
- Against rez rupters + 1 healer
Those 3 cases represent at least 70% of teams you face.... Fact is that at prophecies time winning many fights with no heal was easily done because there wasn't too OP bars and skills. There are really too many flaws today and a high lack of reacting from them

If you have a mesmer or ranger on your team, your chances are highly increased. Rupting heals, res sigs, etc or draining energy off the enemy monk.

Resurrection Signet
It's so much easier to predict interrupts when you can crit over 100 damage on squishies.

I haven't seen alot of people running Melandru's Shot. How do you like it?
Also, what bow do you use with the build?

Bsurge bar HA style is quite hilarious against dervs and other overzealous melee.
Bsurge
Shellshock
Glyph of lesser energy
Lightning bolt
Grasping earth
ward against foes
Air attunement
Res
Erf prayers: 9
Estorage: 8+1
Air: 12+2
Grasping earth is boss, ward can be tricky cos baddie dolyak/bonettis monks never kite, but when you're in a smart team you neuter most of the damage people throw at you.

It's damage compression and utility rolled up into one. What's not to like?
The bows I use include:
Crippling Recurve
Vampiric Flatbow
Crippling Longbow
Shield Set

It has came to my attention that Rits are really under-used in RA. I see them rarely, and I think they're ideal to have. Resto to support monks, Channeling to support spikes. I've started to run myself the other day:
12+1+1 Channeling
12+1 Resto
3 Spawning
Xinrae's Weapon
Mend Body and Soul
Spirit Burn
Gaze from Beyond
Essence Strike
Renewing Surge
Ressurection Signet
Bloodsong
I think HigherMinion deserve credits for the build :P I think it works great, aslong as you can keep your spirit up. You can support monks with Xinrae's + Mend Body and Soul and help with spikes (and additional Burning + Blind) and good e-management.
