Possible, yes, but it's hardly putting your team at an advantage.

It is dependent on the right teammates, just like most mesmer bars are that get play in RA. Mesmers are amazing in RA when you have the right team makeup, but they are pretty subpar in most other situations. While the dom e-denial bars do have damage to give in situations where your team needs it, I simply wouldn't run any mesmer in RA. I think it is way too dependent on team makeup to be successful. I am ignoring the SoM mesmers because those hardly count as anything.

If you get the right teammates to carry you, you can get away with anything. I'd rather not be giving the other team a power play every game though because I decided to bring a shutdown bar that can't even cause a full character slot worth of lost effectiveness except in select situations.

Well, thankfully that fad seems to be diminishing.
Awhile back I won like 40 in a row with a migraine mes that was also running poison tip signet, imagined burden conjure nightmare. I thought the poison sig was awfully silly but it did kinda make sense for RA...if he had nobody to migrane at least he had plenty of sustainable degen and a snare.
I'll never understand the mes's and ele's that basically plan to unload their bar and if that doesn't get a kill, game over for them.

You can't rely on the other 3 randomly chosen team mates filling in for you, just because you felt like running an exotic e-denial build. Being random, it will fall into place every now and then, but statistically you will be behind the curve and loose more often than other builds do.

Exactly. That's not to say you can't get glad points with e-denial, since you can get points with just about anything. But as with most arena build discussions, it's all about glad point frequency and not "can you get 10 with <insert build here>". I'll take a Magebane over a dom or passive e-denial mes in RA/TA any day, simply because of its extra versatility (degen, res denial, less squishy). A good ranger will be able to make himself useful in almost all scenarios, whereas a dom or e-denial mes will be next to useless while facing a heavy physical team. More things have to go right for a dom/e-denial mes to get a good run going than for a decent ranger.

The right kind of midline in ra will max your glad point rate.
You have to combine pressure with damage mitigation/healing and you are godsent to your team. The thing is, most people dont know how to build midline for ra, nor how to run it, cause you need to prioritize your focus all the time on foes, your team members and you.

Paragon = badly designed, extremely OP 8v8 class... No, there isn't a good Para 4v4 scrimmage bar.
But if U wanna have a go at it anyways, something amonst these lines will work (Just sucking it out of mythumb atm):
[build prof=Paragon/Ranger Spear=12+1+1 Wilderness=9 Leadership=9+1 ][Barbed Spear][Maiming Spear][Merciless Spear][Stunning Strike][Apply Poison][Aggressive Refrain][Anthem of Flame][Resurrection Signet][/build]
Optional: Take out Maiming/Merciless for ["Brace Yourself!"], which is pro for helping out your casters, or Troll Unguent for self heal... (I rly don't care, just go with the flow)

Bull's works great on R/W's, especially if you are not running thumper and have no other way to kd.
[build=RaO Sword;OgETQZrexBxCYYKbmcthh2IAAA]
Works just fine. Remember that RaO is a skill, not a stance so there are some skills that work advantageously with that too.

I'm sure it's been done before, but lewlies. Pretty much wrecks the SoM, wounding strike and R/P barbed spear + apply poison spam garbage. All still pretty common unfortunately :<

Lol I played a build like that, if you wanna be an ass you just stand in the lava and fire away . I'd lose d-shot for faint or plague sending tho, but that would make it less exotic.

Since the buff to drain delusions you have great e-denial and management. I'm thinking of switching out empathy for mind wrack. Your thoughts on this build?

Replace WW with Mind Wrack if you have to.
WW is crap on players.

After you drain them of energy , most of them just stand still , also WW is a nice way to force someone to use a skill , thus losing energy.
