Ninefinger's Echo/Imbue Dervish
This is my healing Dervish build that I run in RA/TA frequently. Its not an 'out of the box' winner, it took me 2 solid weeks of practice to get good with it, now I typically get 16 or better Glad points in an evening running it.
D/ME Echo/Imbue Healer....
Skills:
Pious Concentration (Earth Prayers)
Armor of Sanctity (Earth Prayers)
Shield of Force (Earth Prayers)
Vital Boon (Earth Prayers)
Mystic Regeneration (Earth Prayers)
Signet of Pious LIght (Earth Prayers)
Imbue Health (Mysticism)
Echo (No Attribute)
Attributes:
Mysticism = 12 +1 +2
Earth Prayers = 12 +1
Wind Prayers 3 +1 (Alternate)
Equip:
All Radiant Armor
Any Staff w/ reduced recharge
Alt 15/15 weapon set
Optional Skill Changes:
Pious Restoration for Pious Concentration (Buff Wind Prayers to get 2 hexxes removed)
Fleeting Stability for Shield of Force
Pros: (when run properly)
Unreal Raw Healing Power
Survivability
Inconspicuous
Energy Efficient
Cons:
No Condition Removal
No Party Hex Removal
Very Unforgiving
(When run Improperly)
Energy Hungry
This build's potential is awsome, but its very unforgiving along with some other issues. Those issues can be overcome with practice and following a few guidelines. The biggest issues are E-anagement, surviving pressure.
Here are a couple hints to get to help overcome each obstacle:
E-management- Attributes need to be set at 15 Mysticism and 13 Earth Prayers. With 15 Mysticism, you get 15 health and 5 energy whenever an enchant ends on you. Burn enchants with Pious Light to feed yourself health and energy. If you run the build as its intended, the only skills you should have to pay for are 5 energy for Mystic Regen, 5 energy for Pious Concentration and 10 energy for Imbue Health. The rest of the build is free.
Imbue Health is like the biggest spike heal skill in the game. Its also too expensive for a dervish to spam 2 of them at will. Use the free +108 heals of Pious light like the builds gas pedal and the big +300's like a NOS button.
Surviving pressure - Echo and (As long as you have 1 enchant hot) Pious Light will burn diversion. Pious lignt will also sustain you through a backfire cycle without much inconvenience.
Pious Light, Pious Concentration, and 1/4 cast enchants will keep you alive through a daze cycle.
This is the biggest gun in your arsenal........If you're taking big hate, Echo Vital Boon instead of Imbue Health. When you burn Vital Boon to use Pious Light on yourself, you get a 306 health spike heal with no net energy cost. Echoing Vital Boon lets you do this every 4 seconds.

I saw a couple people running this and it was damn effective, I was Vs this playing a warrior and it was not fun to be weekend 24/7 we lost prob. flawless if I remember right. I tried copying this and I could not run it to save my life, it seemed broken when I played against it but after playing it, it is really tricky to get the hang of. Thanks for sharing the details though, I may try it again.

This is what I've been toying with lately when monking just isn't fun anymore due to having no dmg dealers on teams (read: too much self heal). Nothing original but still quite fun and effective:
[forked arrow][hunter's shot][savage shot][lightning reflexes][favorable winds][brutal weapon][glass arrows][resurrection signet]
Vamp Hornbow, etc. etc.
Skill slot 2 is the "linker" and can be any of the 1s bow attacks. It used to be Power Shot, but since the nerf, I've found Hunter's Shot bonus conditional and 5e cost preferable. This skill counters the cooldown of the first bow attack, so, in the best case scenario you're fireing 4 arrows in about ~1.5 seconds, each dealing 90 +5 dmg to a softy.
I like to fire a couple arrows at first, to soften up the target, since most monks won't bother until HP drops lower than 80%, and then finish with the target spike. This being RA, you can easily see which targets have less than 500hp and spike them over and over.
There were talks about Savage vs. Dshot in these types of builds, but in the end I've opted for Savage for the damage potential and quicker recharge. Finishing with an interrupt is always fun since by that time the target is aware they are being spiked and will often cast out of desperation.
Counters: Blind, Hexes, Spirit Bond, and Teamates (HC or Bond monk on your side)

Some of my guild members and I have been messing around with a TA build that has a couple Air Spikers supported by this D/Me build and a Smite/Prot monk maintaining Life Attunement at +45%.
We have had intermittent success, but I think the potential for making a decent build around the concept is promising.

Actually, that doesn't work well for me. There is a reason my character's name is 'Ninefingers'....................
I made a set of pedals out of the printed circuit board from a USB keyboard and some surface mount horn buttons from AutoZone.
Now, my targeting is done with my feet, I move with WASD, and skills/cancel/weaponset are all done with the mouse. With the pedals, I can easily have a heal on a second party member in the buffer before the first one is done.

Dervish healers were popular a long time ago in TA, but fell out of play when everybody started running Rend and Shattering Sins. Ideally, the other three characters should be self-sufficient physicals, with self heals, block stances, condition/hex removal and the like, or else Signet of Pious Light will become a single point of failure in the team.

I've been playing this today. Works well, but the original shock axe may be more effective, altough this is imo more fun to play.

If you're at 14 Strength, then Enraging Charge gives you 4 adrenaline, you can probably find something better to use your elite on, like swapping Dismember for Eviscerate.

That's true, but then again it's almost the original shock axe build. As I said, it's maybe more effective but this is more fun to play and I wanted to try something new.

while 1 and 2 is recharging, you can pressure any hexed foe
only downside is lack of deepwound :/

I've had some great fun with little variation of the signet mesmer build (that you can see in GvG), with Strength of Honor + Judge's Insight to boost melee(s) in my group (which aint rare to have in RA). And i'm sure some of the melee liked +13 dmg and 20% peneration aswell
Don't remember the attributes, but skills were;
[Signet of Judgment][Bane Signet][Castigation Signet][Signet of Rage][Mantra of Inscriptions][Judge's Insight][Strength of Honor][Resurrection Signet]
something like inspiration 12, smiting 12 and 10 or 11 fast casting (this is with minor runes).

This build fails
Quote:
1. Lack of Good enchantments available
2. Bad IAS choices between the two professions
3. Lack of Good Deep wound sources
4. Lack of Good Healing
5. Inferior to A/? as it has less options
6. Less bonus damage
7. None of the Preperations are good for daggers.
8. Overall just a minor annoyance if that.

Oo...thumbs down on pvx, you should /wrist
I've tried some R/A builds and have to admit they all failed. If you want to experiment with some mixed martial stuff on a ranger, try doing RaO with swords and axes, it's hilarious and can do crazy DPS.

Getting a thumbs down from pvx doesn't mean much...if it works for you, it works for you, you know?
But if you're going to run an elite daze why not run [broad head arrow] instead and quick switch
