Let's face it, people aren't trying, they just believe in what they see is working, that's all.. It's the same for codex arena in fact.. people are just copying the meta and that's it..

I've ran custom builds before years ago that I got criticised for too, but then later on everyone else started using. Funny really.
Works in reverse too though. People sometime criticise you for using a build that isn't meta, though has been in the past. Often builds that still work as the skills weren't changed, it just went out of fashion.
