How to deal with Ranger spirits in FA
I've had the unfortunate opportunity to meet a Ranger player who grieved his own Kurzick team-mates by placing spirits such as Edge of Extinction, Tranquility, Quickening Zephyr and others. So I've made a Ritualist build that can efficiently nullify this nuisance.
Profession: Ritualist/Ranger
Attributes: 11+1+3 Restoration, 12+3 Spawning Power, 6 Wilderness Survival
1. Mend Body and Soul: heal ally for 115 health, remove one condition for each spirit within your aggro bubble.
2. Optional Heal
2a. Spirit Light: heal ally for 180 health, sacrifice 17% of your health if there is no spirit within your aggro bubble.
2b. Resilient Weapon: for 19 seconds, while that ally suffrs from a condition or hex, he gains +6 Health regen and +24 armor.
2c. Life: when this spirit dies, all allies are healed for 7 health for each second this spirit was alive.
3. Rupture Soul: destroy allied spirit dealing 140 lightning damage and causing 12 seconds of Blindness to all nearby enemies.
4. Feast of Souls: destroy all nearby allied spirits while healing all party members for 100 health for each spirit that was destroyed in this way.
5. Ghostly Haste: for 24 seconds, all spells that you cast within the earshot of a spirit will recharge 25% faster.
6. Spirit Channeling: for 14 seconds you gain +6 energy regen and you gain 12 energy if you cast this spell while you had a spirit in your aggro bubble.
7. Energetic Was Lee Sa: gain +2 energy regen, while you hold her ashes for 15 seconds, and gain 10 energy when you drop this item.
8. Serpent's Quickness: your skill recharge is reduced by 33% for 21 seconds and this stance ends if your health drops below 50%.
Save Energetic Was Lee Sa and Serpent's Quickness for the more intense battles and, for all other times, just maintain Ghostly Haste on you and cast Rupture Soul Immediately after the Ranger uses Edge of Extinction, Tranquility, Quickening Zephyr and possibly other spirits depending on what your team is doing. If the Ranger is using a lot of useless spirits such as Nature's Renewal, Predatory Season, Brambles etc. then save those for when your team needs a good spike heal from your Feast of Souls. And, obviously, try to cast Energetic Was Lee Sa right after you used Spirit Channeling and/or Ghostly Haste (assuming you have a weapon with +20% enchantments, which you should).
Now, this build is pure theory-crafting at this point so I'm interested in your input. Better yet, it would be awesome if someone could come with me in the Isle of the Nameless and use this Ranger build while I try to destroy his spirits as quickly as possible.
And remember, DO NOT FEED THE TROLL. Don't voice your annoyance at him for his build. Instead, say how amused you are that you've managed to turn his Ranger spirits into heals for your own allies.
And, by the way, if there are any Luxons that are so annoyed at losing to the Kurzicks, that you're decided to come grief the Kurzicks with your Ranger spirits, then why don't you just bring a build that can actually counter healers and play this game the way it was meant to be played? It's not that hard, I've lost many times, while playing my Monk, to various Mesmers and Necromancers. There's no reason to be so sad and petty :P
I hope this build was helpful and I await your criticism.
