It's pretty dead. You can get matches, but a lot of them are going to be against henchmen teams that the syncers send in, and once you get to halls, you'll probably get ganked 16v8 every match by the teams they sync in, unless you're doing it yourself.

Could get some interesting matches during the double fame events, as for the times off those, I'd say that it's playable, but not captivating enough (the reasons is what Lemming said).

I wonder if those synchers will decide one day to do the roll thing that happened in hb.

Lol, if this will happen then they should get rid of codex, and just bring TA back.

That wouldn't make sense. Those henchmen teams in HA you see aren't real people, you know?

^ Yes.
And support say there is no moderation anymore so there will be no repercussions for doing so. They say you should use /report for suspected EULA violators but there is no such option in the menu for sync ganking. Besides, nobody on their end reads the /reports so it's just an effort to pacify those who are upset about being constantly cheated out of wins.
Bottom line is: HA is not dead, so crack open multi-launch, log in those alts and enjoy 16v8.

Theoretically, it's not unreal to win a match where you're getting heavily pressured by the blue team & their yellow henchs, however, the required effort is a little bit too much for an ordinary run for chest loot... I mean, 90% of the time you wouldn't bother gathering an r12+ party with all folks on TS for the sole purpose of kicking some PvE group you wouldn't even consider serious HA players back in the day. ^^
Perhaps I could share some of my thoughts on it later this week... like certain builds & such (if I'll actually feel like describing all of that).

yes, more or less, however now as i'm sure you understand it is a place for pve syncers, and i'd mistrust people who have their rank up
though i did see a notably classic bbwayer (ex eB and cc) who now appears to have a dragon, he was r13 in 2012, so clearly there are people who used to be effective (bbway/iway is effective, i wouldn't describe players who ranked up using them as austomatically good though) who have 'played' since
since a while back, after i stopped playing HA, i migrated to FA then when GW2 arrived to the JQ, in 2013 i played against a mesmer running domination with no rupts, he was so ineffective i pm'd him with some hints (i'm actually nice btw, not the ''lol wtf'' type), he now has a bird, and shows his rank
avoid HA, it's about as competative as easy mode pve

It would appear not. They're well aware but it's not something they're policing.

These past two double fame weeks were actually surprisingly active during euro hours - there were full matches with three real teams for hours at a time.

FRA and their ally are mostly ganking HoH but during Zquest and dobule weeks you'll find some 8v8 games... Today we played at least 10 out of like 50 against full teams

Sad
Thought I'd have a look, so popped into the desolated HA. Watched a couple of matches: the last one consisted of many henchies, and leaders with very similar names.. One team mostly people, two teams with same 7 henchies. I know it's rife but I was still a bit gobsmacked
(Will gladly post screenies if allowed..)
Such a shame
Having said that, had a little fun this weekend in JQ and FA, and JQ is always going, which is thanks only to the bots, so... sadly they do kinda have their uses in the deserted lands of GW

I use a henchmen team since I suck too much to be in any human team. I noticed however that behind other hench teams are actually other people and not bots since often there conversations. They all just use the same team build which seem to be a hench meta or whatever. Have not met a bot team yet. I guess all the people who never went HA due to the fact that they just suck give it a try now. Also as someone noted. Why bother with the full human team if henchies are able to get you to the halls? Anyways it is still a nice way to learn the maps etc. I failed a few times to get to the halls with human team but now with henchies it is actually possible so at least I know how it looks like. I will not know how it feels but at this stage of the game it is the best we can get no?
EDIT: Yet again completely wrong. All the henchies I encountered were bots. All the same build setup and behaviour.
