Default Is there anyway to protect Enchantments?

So I was thinking about making an Illusionary Weapon Mesmer. However, there's a problem with people stripping the enchantment.

Yes, I know about Enchantment Stacking and about Arcane Echo->IW->Arcane/IW, but what about the spirit spam builds that regularly lay down Nature's Renewal. I remember laughing at the the quest "Wraithful Spirits" in th UW because I just through out a "Nature's Renewal" and watched as they hit my ranger for 0-4 damage.

Now I want to try something differant (for PvP) and there doesn't seem to be any spell or skill that will protect my IW...

Best way to try to prevent your enchantment from getting removed is to stack more on top of it. For example, my Peace and Harmony Monk uses Vigorous Spirit to cover PxH. Not much help vs Rend Enchantments, but its better than nothing.

There's nothing you can do about renewal but kill it and kill the person casting it. If you're playing an enchant-dependant build you're screwed until this happens. What did you expect :P

Otherwise, identify the enemies with enchant removal (usually Me, N, or /Me /N) and work on them a bit with other illusion spells; arcane conundrum, energy taps, etc. Watch for them to use their enchant removal spells (many have at least 20s recharge times) then flip on IW with a cover (channeling is cool for this, sympathetic visage could work).

Hopefully you can find something else to do when your IW is busted, instead of sitting around with 4 skills devoted to it.

My IW builds typically have at least 3 counters involved. I just identify whomever the person that would be countering me and take care of them first. Also, remember, if they're disenchating you, that means your Monk isn't getting disenchanted. So, as long as you don't overly depend on IW (IE: have something else you can do even if its energy denial / counters), you'll be serving some purpose.
