Default Warrior vs Mesmer/Necro

Just for reference this is how my toolbar appears:
1. Vampiric Gaze
2. Life Siphon (waiting to get life transfer)
3. Conjure Phantasm
4. Wastrel's Worry
5. Energy Burn
6. Empathy
7. Backfire
8. Rez Signet

I am okay against most enemies. I have not done a lot of GW PvP, but lots of other PvP in WoW (mainly solo PvP). But when it comes to a warrior I am useless. I have tried different Strategies multiple times and nothing works it usually goes like this: Conjure Phantasm, Wastrel's Worry, Energy Burn, Empathy, Life Siphon and Vampiric Gaze (after I have used vampiric gaze I usually die). This is when the warrior is still running at me, he usually doesn't touch me until Life Siphon. But I die in only a few hits and am out of energy very quickly. I don't know what to do. Someone please help.

Soothing images and/or faintheartedness really screw over a warrior pretty bad that can't get rid of them. Soothing images won't work on the rare cases that don't use adrenaline skills but spam energy skills with warrior's endurance/flourish or something like that but it's still really effective.

In fact a warrior that isn't using hex breaker... you have the perfect class combo to screw them over hardcore but it's usually curse necros that hurt warriors not really blood. I don't think any warrior can keep up with a N/Me hex spam without any other remover other than hex breaker, maybe an energyless purge signet war or something wierd like that. Spirit shackles on a warrior or ranger can help a little with your energy problems. Sympathetic visage on yourself will screw a warrior over that's attacking you as well, if you're just in random arena you won't see many people enchant removing a mesmer. You can use imagined burden/crippling anguish if you have your elite and kite the warrior. Ineptitude is ok but costs your elite and blindness isn't really that reliable (especially compared to hexes) in randoms. Spiteful spirit is really good on warriors if you stacked spiteful + empathy they should kill themselves before you die if they keep attacking. If you've been to fissure you might've seen firsthand what spiteful spirit does to warriors bunched up in a group trying to attack through it.

You have lots of options to annoy warriors, you just need a couple and you should be ok whilst still being effective against casters.

Honestly, a Mesmer shines when dealing with casters, and going up against warriors really isn't a very good idea. The problem with anti-warrior stuff is that all the good skills are in illusion, which offer very little in anti-caster. So you can either do Domination/Inspiration for anti-caster, or some bizarre mixture with illusion which will hurt your anti-caster skills, or make a anti-warrior mesmer, which really isn't too good.

Usually, Sympathetic Visage and Soothing Images are two of the best anti-warrior skills, and really all you need to use. If you design your skillbar to combat warriors, you will definitely see large dropoffs in effectivness in other areas.

Wastrel's Worry makes baby jesus cry, being one of the worst skills in the game.

The rest of the skillbar isn't very attractive either.

Backfire is the only half decent one there and not that great under NR anyway (ok outside of it but not great in most builds). For your own sake, don't bother with life transfer. It's one of the worst elites out there.

Me/W ftw! An IW Mesmer will own any Warrior pretty much . I've been able to take down level 20's with my level 6 with that build.

soooooooo how does your lvl 6 have IW?.

But yeah, salvage whats left of your mesmer RP char and go IW.... its the only worthwhile pve mesmer build ever.

As far as pvp, mesmers got the shaft, NR screws any mesmer build I've ever run... cept energy denial... but that build sucks...

My level 6 has IW because I was run to forge, and that skill is right outside camp rankor. I just got a bunch of henchies, killed the guy, and skill capped . Then I went and terrorized the arenas .

I'll second this combo. The midnight signet is free 15 second blind with a 15 sec recycle. With plague touch, you're pretty much able to keep two warriors/rangers blinded for the entire duration of the match. Then you have six other slots to wreck havoc on casters.

I had enough to do 23 damage per hit at a 33% increased attack speed, much more than any warrior, 8 seconds of sustained 5 health degen, 75% evade/block, and I was wielding a +30 life sword as well as a shield with +45 health while enchanted. I had over 300 health, which was more than plenty to take down any warrior in 1v1 combat. I would hope that you think before you speak next time .

Illusion offers Arcane Conundrum and Migraine which are both solid anti-caster skills, you just need to spread out the attrs a bit.

against warriors..

spirit shackles + mind wrack
works nice with Energy drains aswel.
Empathy
Illusionary weaponry
Blood draining skills
Faintheardedness!!!
signet of midnight!!

if it's a W/Mo they often have 1 healing skill lot of the times being Healing Breeze, just use arcane thievery and you take away their one healing skill for 20 seconds, which they rely on if they brought it with them.
I think IW would work best though.

A great combo for warriors is Spirit of Failure and Distortion. Get Illusion up enought to lose 1 energy per miss for Distortion and Sprit of Failure up to 3 energy back for each miss. Now the warror can't hit you, and he is refilling your energy.

You can spam Distortion and cast other skills in the 5 second window between Distortions. When everyone else is dead on the other team, then you can deal with the warrior that rushed you.

Hah... you could never beat a decent warrior with that garbage. I can't believe you had any wins against a lvl 20 warrior - you must have fought the dumbest jarheads on the planet. A hammer warrior would have mopped you up, as would anyone who was using a stance breaking skill.
