Lightbulb new rspike idea

the build consists of:
1 R/P (caller)
2 R/E
haven't decided on this slot, but probably a spirit ranger or a paragon.. maybe a rit
2 monk backline

spiker 1: R/P
atts:
12 expertise
16 marksmanship
rest in command
bar: forked arrow, punishing shot, savage shot, read the wind, go for the eyes, find their weakness (can be song of concentration), favorable winds, res sig.

spikers 2 and 3: R/E
atts:
7 fire magic
10 expertise
16 marksmanship
7 wilderness survival
bar: dual shot, savage shot, marauder's shot, kindle arrows, conjure flame, favorable winds (one can take practiced instead of FW for altars), res sig.

still figuring out what to put in #4 spot

#5 monk: LoD/infuse
LoD, infuse health, heal other, healing touch, healing seed, jamei's gaze, channeling, ihex (or a different spell).
12+1+1 HP, 10+1 divine favor, rest in inspiration.

#6 monk: ZB
ZB, gift of health, RoF, convert hexes, shield of absorption, prot spirit, guardian, channeling.
12+1+1 prot, 6+1 divine favor, 10+1 healing, 6 inspiration.

the rangers have a sundering longbow of fortitude and a vampiric hornbow of fortitude.
you may ask.. why is this better than a regular rspike? with these bars and atts, the two R/E's get up to +23 dmg from kindle and conjure, plus another 5 damage with their hornbow. the caller can use forked arrow and get more dmg instead of using dual shot. on top of all this, they also get "Go for the Eyes!", which gives them a 40-50%(ish) chance to critical, and (if the team takes it), find their weakness will put a deep wound on the spikee if they get criticaled.

in my testing, i have never had to use punishing or savage. neither has anyone i've tested with.

thoughts...

**EDIT** got it up on GWShack... http://gwshack.us/5e14

What I don't get is that one of them is RtW while the other two are Kindle Arrows...and why would you need Practiced Stance for Kindle Arrows?

Conjure Flame = no
Kindle Arrows = no

Your Spikers may have energy issues.

practiced for one of the spikers, take out FW and replace it with practiced so you have a better chance at winning altars. the only problem i see with this is if the other team(s) have concentration up

How does practised stance help you win altar maps. I think you will want seeking arrows in there if you intend on interupting. But, id take Read The Wind as a prep in any rspike. Last but not least....dont play rspike.

well for a start, i Strongly disagree with Pyrankh, Rangerspike is going to come back BIG, already in this test weekend we played all weekend with 2 Glassarrows Rangers, and 2 Incoming paragons, most instant spike i swear, sometimes the spike looks as bad as when double orders were around

Pm me in game Hambones, and i'll help you mabye give you a build or two to get you started, then you can see how they work, and i'll explain everything to you to my knowledge, i ran rangerspike a very lot, so i should be able to help you out - Power of my rangers < my ign

--- Edit ---

Oh and i'll help you a bit on here....

IF i were you... i'd run 3 rangers. mabye 4... all with spirits, like winnowing, natures, frozen, favorable winds.... all the rangers to run this... "Read the win,Forked arrow, punishing shot, savage shot, res signet" .. a must on all the rangers. with forked arrows at 5 seconds recharge you don't need other spike skills such as "mauraders AND <-- dualshot" .. just forked arrows spike with punishing every 5 seconds, and even if punishing isn't recharged who gives a shit, just spike with forked savage, ... TARGET calling is most important, the build only is important so much, but the calling has to be spot on, i tend to target people without enchments, or overextends, but other then this i kill what is "***king" the monks up basically, Always target mesmers, Dping targets, this is crucial, most of the time i wait for the guy to get res'd the second hes about to res i start calling a counter and then i call his name when he res and say 1.. and ye 30dp, can't stop the spike...

There are many counters in the metagame which stop rangerspike but they don't completly ruin it, shields up <- the biggest... nothing At all that can be done about this, just keep trying to spike, i often place a ranger on a Ritualist or N/Rt to interupt there union displacment and most important Shelter.. this is the biggest stop to any ranger spike...forked arrows at 14 marks with Go for the eyes up hits 95 - 95 +5+5 vamp, + savage usaully hits for about 90, sometimes more

Mathimatically you want a spike to be able to do over 120 damage then it will be needed .. example.. most monks in Ha will have roughly 540-580 hp. and EVERY CASTER <-- i gaurntee you has a superior,

Priority target when we go in .. Grenths dervish, we wait Always for the dervish to put his avatar up, savage shot the monks a little and then spike him down, a dervish has 70 armour, and average less health then casters, because they run +enchment mod on weapon, and no shield, and ALWAYS a superior and sometimes even a major,

Sorry for my post always being very disorganized, i type fast :P and never was too great at english, hope i helped you, and ye pm me if you would like to, and i'll go over some things with you

Nope, i never run a sup when im monking, and i always have over 600 health. As for everything else, it sits ~560 or so. I'd run 3 spikers and have each bring "Find Their Weakness" and a paragon with "Go for the eyes" for a deep wound. if the spike is nice and clean, it will usually take down anyone with the first spike skill. For the monks i'd do LoD infuse and some sort of prot monk (i suck so much at prot QQ). Gl

Consider Go For The Eyes! + Keen Arrow and Glass Arrows.

IF HA altar maps are going to be permanently changed to Kill Count then skills like seeking arrows/practiced stance shouldn't matter.

Me and a group of alliance mates tested this, Go for the eyes and keen arrow doesnt do as much dmg as Forked Arrow (the new dual shot but better) and Punishing shot.

Well, this weekend Keen Arrow was buffed to insanity. If they leave the buff, GfTE + Keen Arrow will > dual shot/forked arrow.

Also, why do people still use forked arrow? Pbond can shut you down

http://gwshack.us/4cee7 -- Rspike ive had setup more than a month and a half now (others might have come up with it sooner but i saw none)

spike fast enough and the low amount of defense never matters unless your bad at dropping them.
