2. R/P

Wild Throw/Lightning Spear -Spearmastery
Blazing Spear-Spearmastery
Mighty Spear -Spearmastery
Charm Animal -BM
Comfort Animal -BM
Poisonous bite -BM

P/x or D/X
I sometimes ran a Grenth dervish (build widely availble) or you could try it with a motivation/command dervish with anthem of flame or crippling anthem plus go for the eyes. However, this build is not so good vs things as simple as aegis so it is nice to have enchant removal of some kind.
I orignally ran it with three Ranger paragons, but came up against aegis and realized that I needed enchant removal so that I could always hit.

Mo/A --Really up to you.
Zb/divert hexes if you want
RoF
Prot Spirit
SoA
Dark Escape
Your Choice

Tactics:
Basic:
Go to temple of Balthazar and practice on the 60-100 al npcs, practice doing running hits etc. Basically, you are hopefully going to just overload them with conditions. Always keep RaO up as this is what allows you to have high dps. Tip: use RaO on yourself and your hero/s at the same time so that you remember to resuse it on your hero when it goes off of you.

First use Barbed Spear and Poisonous bite on a target then follow with mighty spear. Spam disruping lunge on casters and continually reapply conditions as they are removed. As soon as someone goes below 50% health, use viscious (make sure you are not obstructed and they are not far enough to dodge) and they will have deep wound. Next use flaming. Hopefully at this point they will have: bleeding, poison, deep wound, and on fire and will be dropping (the npc 80al that is, not the rcprot ;p)

Shrine control. Ignore energy shrines for the most part. In general, go straight for battle cry shrines and npc shrines.

At the start, see whether the nme is going for the NPC or center with most of his guys. You can tell b/c there are of course two doors, so his npcs will be clumped wherever he has set flags. If all his guys are going for NPC, or if he he is just sending one or two to the center, go gank the center and cap it quickly. With this builds dps, the only thing that can outheal you is a good person playing monk, occasionaly two monks, or sometimes two monks and a rit. However, I can generally roll Tahl and Dunk at the center if the guy only sends them. That should give you a few points for the start, either way, once you have taken the center then just force the fight to the npc shrine which you can take b/c he is either down guys from the ones you killed at center, or he has 5 guys but he needs to cap the center so you can stay and cap the hero shrine.

Shrine control in depth: Shrine control is kind of like tic-tac-to; the goal in both is to force the other guy to have two choices, both of which will make him lose. The ideal sitation is to have all the shrines and be fighting someplace nowhere near any of them. You have v. little to lose by dying. The worst situation is to be stuck fighting for the catapult or NPC shrine while the other guy has the center. That is where he is making you make a choice and both options suck.
1. you can go cap the alter while he catapults you or ganks your 1 monk with npc advantage.
2. you can try and cap the catapult/npc shrine while he gets points from the center.

This is what the Return assasans do, they force you to fight for shrines while they hold the center. Becase they can teleport faster than you can run, so they can hold on to both.

Never fight for a shrine that is going to take more than 30 seconds when you can cap the center in less than 30 seconds. ***
But you want to do that to the other guy. Here are a few steps:

1. Look at the team. With your build, if there is only one monk or healer than you know that they cannot hold. If there are three healers then you know they can. Quickly decide whether they can hold against you or not. If they cannot, then quickly go gank the center shrine and take it, then go take battle cry/Catapult/NPC. Once you have battlecry, npc and center just keep forcing the other guy to fight at the non-center shrines by going and ganking him whenver he tries to capture anything. If they can hold, then cap shrines and try to gank the assasin or ranger who is running so that you can get a shrine advantage. Here it becomes somewhat about chasing people around, but the advantage is that if they are constantly worrying about running, they may have less time to worry about their heros. Remember that offensive-set heros aggro. Try and use this to your advantage by going in and spearing koss or olias and then running back until he gets a ways away from tahl and dunk. Then quickly put conditions on him. Repeating this bait/run/spike technique works well b/c most people don't have enough micro to keep their heros from aggroing.

I beat one guy just by going and trying to cap catapult a bunch of times and letting him slowly kill me. He just didnt realize that I was going to beat him b/c of center shrine points. It was funny b/c I was like, dude kill me all you want but im going to win.

Also, since you are ranged, you can get owned by sandstorm or aoe if you are too noob. Take advantage of the fact that heros can follow commands and just run out of every sandstorm or shower, That way your whole team takes a combined damage of like 2-4*30 (or w/e the sandstorm is doing to you) for each time they cast it rather than the 500 that it seems to always do in RA. Wards don't really mess up this build, so don't worry about them. Also, since you kill fast, if it's 16 or 18 then just gank gank gank for those last few kills and forget about shrines for the most part. However, remember that a smart move when it is 16-2 (your losing) can win you the match if you can take all the shrines and look for quick ganks and alter caps.

sry for long post gg.

Also, if you fight secret agent orange just sit there, he will leave lol.

***(E.g., the other guy is holding catapult with an ele and a rit and a monk. He is holding centre shrine with a warrior. Gank the warrior, then go cap catapult. If he's holding with dunk and tahl, kill them, take the center quick with all 4 of ur heros, then just go camp the spawn point and kill dunk and tall again while you get points, this forces him to move away from the catapult in order to recap center or to save his heros from getting spawn camped.)

Seems quite familiar build what I have played with success.

But giving out all your most overpowered builds, this sure is quite close to a one, doesn't sound too good idea for me if the hero vs. hero tournaments will have good prizes. I'm sticking playing quite odd builds at HvH now as got quite good clue about the most ridiculous things available at this moment. Of course I'm expecting nerfs to the most popular skills, and thats why it's quite hard to trust the builds to stay the same, so coming up with entirely new ideas is nice.

been running a better version of this for a while, but as loreal said, giving out good builds doesn't seem like a wise thing to do if hvh tournaments have good prizes ~_~

Heh,

I said 'got'. I don't use it anymore, just used it a bit to get commander in a few hours without rolling. Just given that this thread has like 70 views could indicate that a few people are at least curious about HvH builds, so posting builds that you use that are at least decent might help to improve the general hvh scene for those of us who like it. I don't think trying to keep builds a secret is that important at this point, not to mention that tactics are as important if not more than the build.

People shooting for a place on the HvH ladder will be watching observation mode. There's no sense or point to hiding your build -- because you can't.

Yeah. HvH should be put onto obs once the ladder system has gone into effect. At which point there will be an influx of build changes, and build copies that will basically even out the playing field.

Once everyone can see what works and what doesnt work, a meta will form such as the one for HA and GvG. Then "power" builds will be everywhere.

What do you mean here by "Mighty Spear" as there's no skill with that title. Is it supposed to be Might Throw or Merciless Spear?

I play a more "real" paragonway, a little lamer maybe. No healing, just 3 rangers and a minion master, because it's easy to have an initial advantage but hard to mantain it and the mm help. After that it's a matter of selecting the right attack skills, targeting and moving. I win almost all battles and a 75% of the tough ones, but now i'm trying a more balanced build with fear me dervishes and a monk.

There's a thread that has some details about this, by Gaile Gray, in the Riverside Inn. They're gonna have an HvH ladder and prizes for them like they do for GvG; I assume that's what she meant. I don't remember if it said anything about observing Hero Battles... that's just speculation.

hrms, I've played it before. With no real counter to heavy anti melee hexing as can be done with abuse of soul reaping it never really stands much of a chance against my build. although i did lose to this when i atempted to run balanced like i was in TA, =/
