yes, the CG ranger takes two interupts, there are two tasks for this guy when he was popular in the meta.

1, gas against monks, midline, or just own bloodspikes
2, interupt the ghostly hero with savage on recharge. so you hold all day.

Gas doesnt work on the ghostly hero (would be pretty broken if it did keke) so they use seeking so putting guardian or whatever on the ghost doesnt mean your interupt will miss.

I could be wrong about all the things they used for altar matches because iw as a noob bspiker in those days, but

Spell Breaker
Guardian
Ward of Stability

Dist Shot
Savage Shot
PD
Shock
D Blow
Leech Sig
Other random interupts

Wards
Rit Spirits

The holding game went for most teams as hold as best as you can, but be able to keep two ghostly heroes interupted for 2 minutes in case your ghost died. I myself played bspike, so it was much simpler for me, heal/prot ghost, if it dies im RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed. But I did pay attention to the stuff used against me a lot.

Honestly, it was the best when it was alter cap, end of question. Getting over 1,000 fame in one run, and having your whole inventory full of sigils. There is no comparison.

If you ever played in hoh back then you should know what we mean.

CG doesnt use the CG in hoh, He used Seeking Arrows so Savage/dshot couldnt get blocked, Get it????? lol

Pretty much, but he obviously still is the "CG", but in halls, they pretty much stick to seeking arrows... (Nice analogy: When you put shock on a warrior with IWAY, it isn't concidered a shock warrior, it's still concidered a IWAY-warrior )

Not really since a w/r (with iway) is called iway war:P , Wich means he cant use Shock.
So if a warrior with schock got iway in hes bar, I think that kinda war is called noob.

:O

Old hoh has many advantages (and disadvantages) over the current one, but that seriously ain't one of them...

^ But the main being: It was actually fun AND WORTH getting to HoH...

The only "holding" teams you see atm are Migraine-ways holding at dead European Hours (10 AM - 3 PM: GMT +1), I see teams holding daily with camp-monkway for hours straight.

So wait, people giving up their jobs/school just so they can hold at dead hours is better than hyper-defensive builds?

I also voted bring back old hoh, just for the sake of bringing some people back to heroes ascent, but that's not the point. I can just remember all the QQ going on about disgusting bunker builds that went on back in old halls (like somw spike).

But that is NOT a valid arguement... Seeing how back then, there were hyper-defensive builds, BUT ALOT OF THEM. And most of the time, 1 simple skill balance would take care of it. (So once again, it was bad skill balance that ruined original HA, NOT KoTH-style back then)
There was SoMW, Balanced, Jaggedway, Rspike, Balanced (Had /Mo on every bar ) etc...

What do we have now:

AoE abuse (Fire + splinter), retarded spikes (Rspike CLEAN (+-.1 seconds, yes that's a 0.1 seconds interval between Ghostly Full HP -> ghostly in UW...) spiking a Ghostly Hero at full HP (With WoW, but they had rigor)), Dual migraines which eliminates ANY form of caster based pressure, etc... (I know there was Dual-Migraine in the old days, but now YOU simply can't anti it because you will miss out on snares for HoH) You simply can't compete with these build 1 on 1, AND in HoH, they have Hex Breaker, Dual Foes, ... (You name it)

Ow yeah, AND I forgot, Dead-hour farming has never been this worse... I know players from certain guilds that actually adjust their sleep/awake hours in real life so they can hold at night-times. GOOD JOB!

Regardless of whatever peoples opinions, bad ways of arguing and other such things the bottom line is:

Testing out old school altar or ANY form of new way(but perhaps old, tried and tested) isn't going to hurt HA. If they did it for like a week, or weekend...

I don't mean with DOUBLE fame either. QQ.

Anyone else completly bored watching a team hold for 8 points and /sit for the rest? I do think the koth point system is better than old school altar capping, but some things are stupid retarded.

1 min res timer.
If a team is going to res every minute, make it a base res not an altar res. It is far to easy to absorb pressure and then time a death just before the auto res. And often times it takes about a minute to pressure a team out. The one min res timer only benifits spike teams, since they dont have to worry about pressuring out a team, and can just spike away. WTB 2 min res timer or 1min base res timer.

Weapon of warding also needs to go to hell btw.

2s cap time.
Five second cap was good for the game, especially considering the recharge on a lot of interupts, and the coordination teams had keeping a ghostly interupted for awhile. Pretty much if you want the tactic of keeping a ghostly interupted for a short period of time, your stuck with taking a PD mesmer.

Song Conc is also gay, but I would rather see one person with song, than working on several people to keep down spell breaker, SoD, Stability, etc.

----------
Relic run
Fix red/yellows base, 3 man blocking your team away from the relic is pretty lame.
Kill Aura of Stability/Hex breaker. The ONLY viable snare in the game atm is ward v foes.

Capture Point
This map wasnt made for it, but whatever it works, its just funny how even the r12+ teams consider it getting ganked, when they are holding the center shrine and in the lead, and you threaten thier base to force them off the center. No thats not how you keep a team from getting 5 points ahead of everyone else, not at all.
