Default Jan. mAT predictions thread..where people don't discuss how many rps they got last mo

1. sup - If they can make it to the finals, frozen will be a very dominant map for them, and they can repeat for gold with a similar strong lineup that won before
2. rawr - The most consistent guild right now, but a loss to Vibe earlier in a split-unfriendly uncharted means frozen will be a tough matchup
3. Idle - Doesn't feel as strong as StS before, but nonetheless still one of the best guilds out there
4. KMD - Solid team, but they always seem to lose to rawr, month after month, so to get gold they will have to hope for another team knocking rawr out
5. dP - Extremely good 8v8 guild, but we'll see how they handle certain splits
6. StP - If they play, they are always a lock for silver unless something really goes wrong
7. vE - Another good team that has gotten silver the past few months, so could see play in top 8 depending playoff matchups
8. Holz - If this "casual" BdV guild plays, they should get silver

Other Silvers:
zero - Guild with a lot of experience, but still relatively new so it's harder to get top 8
SU - Assuming rawrflected doesn't leave them for rawr, this mad smurf should do fairly well in the mAT
Vibe - A strong performance in the past week capped by beating rawr earlier tonight puts them at the first page on the ladder and high on my silver list
DirT - Weaker frontline than they would want, but still a great team
AA - Decent team that has gotten silver in previous months
SiN - Strong AT wins put them into my silver list
Wipe - Decent split team that can make silver if they don't rage each other out before the end of the swiss rounds
uRp - Strong ladder performance recently and had a pretty strong AT recently too

Note: I'll probably make some changes between now and the end of the week, but it's most likely only going to be figuring out which of my top 12 goes into the top 8.

Also, which guild is NOW playing in? That's probably a good top 8 contender if I knew which guild they were playing in :P

1. Sup-
2. Rawr- Got split silly by Vibe.
3. KMD-
4. Idle- no Zed, no Godguard, no gold.
5. StP- They get here every month.
6. vE- Same as above
7. dP-
8. Vibe- Good weekend.

Silvers:
Holz
SU
Mediocre Euros (AA, Sin, Urp)

Honorable Mentions:
Mediocre Americans with a chance at Silver (Wipe,pH, rD)
Zero- Don't think they'll play, but their roster is stacked beyond belief; who actually plays for them though?

Dishonorable Mentions:
Terrible Americans (Specifically guilds that get rolled by unranked non-smite heroways)

DM is dead, I don't think BcS plays anymore, at least I haven't seen them play in a while and wouldn't put them in top 8.

Idle might not play either from what I was told (although I wouldn't be surprised if they end up playing anyway). And NOW(BOSS) is apparently not playing either, though I don't really trust them at all.

I don't really know who else to put in top 8 this month tbh, act (basically a downgraded WWF), vE and ten (mkay reform without monks) all seem rather weak atm.

As far as euro guilds go dP and AA would probably be decent bets, from Americans Wipe and Vibe seem decently strong/active atm and possibly even vR(0-4) and SU(mad).

My predictions:

1 Rawr
I don't really see anyone beating rawr this month, sup could maybe have done it but wurms isn't in the single elim and sup's current roster doesn't seem as effective at splitting as their previous one(s).

2-4
KMD/sup/Holz in any order
Depends a little on random chance, I see these guilds as the best euro guilds atm with KMD and sup slightly above Holz.

5-8
Idle/dP/Vibe/StP in any order
dP and StP are pretty much safe picks for top 8 but at the same time I don't expect them to make it past this round, neither of these guilds particularly excells at splitting but despite the rotation the meta doesn't seem to favor splits very much.

Vibe seems to have taken DM's spot of premier tiebreaker guild, I think they often gimp themselves by running kinda bad bars but it seems that by 28:03 they've dealt more damage to the other team's lord than their own lord incurred

Idle this month played roughly 1/10th of the # of matches they played last month and as such I don't expect all that much from them, the meta of 'pumping out damage brainlessly' seems to suit their frontline though and I can't really think of a better candidate for top 8 (possibly NOW/BOSS if they do play).

Copy/pasted from the other thread in Gladiator's Arena (why are there 2 threads anyway?).

Well I won't make a cross on rawr that fast. It's true that they got split but still they are black horse this month.

Making that prediction would put you on unsteady ground.

Oh god that was terrible.

People have tried for ages to split Rawr, but they are so good at counter-splitting. Last night they were just simply outplayed by a Vibe guild that guested what? 3 people? That's not going to work against an even better Sup team that splits even more efficiently.

So, this si the first time somebody split rawr..in how long? and everyone is already running for the hills..

1. Rawr
2. Sup
3. Idle
4. StP
5. dP
6. vE
7. braq
8. Vibe

Something along those lines I suppose.

Not only did they lose to vibe they also had a hard time beating some r300 scrub guild running a mirror build, i was told that rawr actually had to split to beat them because they made no progress in 14 minutes, just shows how powerful the build is.

I still think they are strong enough for the number one spot, altho sup have the potential to outplay rawr if they make it that far.

1.KMD

-My front runner by far. They arn't playing a bad build! I dont think they will make the mistakes they have in the past build wise and have by far outplayed all the rest of the euro community this month.

2.idle

-Overall Good team an easy choice for top 2. Think even when outbuild they can pull off some interesting wins.

3.rawr

-This seems a bit too optimistic of me. The way we have been approaching matches and playstyle makes me want to face plam some times. Unless we seriously step up our game or put in some serious theory crafting effort then I can see a miss of top 16, which would be dissapointing to say the least.

4.Sup

-Are these guys still alive? I thought they are playing with a mostly new roster, if playing at all. I think they can do well even with a new roster, but it seemed pretty gutted last time I checked.

5.StP

-Good guild with bad build choice problems. Could even take gold if they choose right. Not sure they can beat KMD though, maybe if they avoid them.

6.braq

- They Seem to be doing well. Think they will get out split though. We shall see.

7.Cookies/Boss/?

Sneaky bastards.

8. Zero, rD, or Vibe

Darkhorse picks. Zero is newly formed and probably wont have the synergy quite yet. rD should not be underestimated. Vibe has 2 very different and decent builds at thier disposal and the euros really don't get to see them or understand how they work. Either of these 3 could cause some upsets.
