If that were true, then Survivor's Insignas would be FTW. Too bad they're not. Sup Vigor is pretty much the only extra-hp armor upgrade that should ever be used.

Give me one good reason why Survivors Insignias are bad.
More health is good, and the more you have the better.
It also defends against anything, because of more health, you need to take more hits to die.
If you can't give a valid reason I would be forced to call you clueless. (Since Survivor's is top priority for defense, I doubt you can.)

Vital weapon solves this issue.
1) keeps you under a weapon spell
2) increases your health
I was thinking of using this for my attack chain:
Golden Phoenix Strike (offhand)
Horns of the Ox (dual)
Falling Spider (offhand)
Blades of Steel (dual)

On a SS build, it would be wise to use Ghostforge insignas. Same goes for Minion Masters insignas on a MM. Survivors insignas certainly have their place, but there's better options availible for this particular build.

You're pretty hilariously wrong. Survivor insignias should be your default unless you can find something significantly better - you usually can't. However, in PvE I prefer more armor, so I usually roll with those insignias if they fit my build.
For a melee rit, it's hard to pass up ghostforge insignias for a permanent +15AL. You ARE using a weapon spell, right?

Armor will make you take less damage, health will make you die less.

A big red bar is also handy with poison and such.

[weapon of aggression][sight beyond sight][spirit's strength][death pact signet][staggering blow][heavy blow][crushing blow]
hammers on steriods<_<
its just something i had tossed together but it seems to score many kills in RA and AB.
No one expects the rit with a hammer
i made this build one day when i was really bored in RA

I played around with an axe rit for a while.
Whirlwind Chop (pve) , Cyclone Axe, Splinter Weapon, SY! = a lot of yellow numbers and protection.
I'm not saying it's the best build in the world, but it's pretty fun to use. You also have a bit more versatility with your elite. You can use SS (since you'll pretty much have splinter up all the time), or you can choose say, vital weapon if you're focusing on just one enemy.
