you are talking about in general though, i am talking about for the tournament, the n/rt build i know works fine but for 1 on 1 it is pointless, since soul reaping isn't used and i prefer to find ways of doing things as a necro when using my necro rather then resorting to all rt
and my build doesn't need that much luck, it is only one opponent that needs avoiding not alot

Barbed Spear
You Move Like a Dwarf
Virulence
Necrosis
Vile Miasma
Rend Enchantments
Finish Him
Parasidic Bond
14 Death
10 Spear
The rest in curse.
Use YMLaD for an interupt and to start off Virulence. Avoid Oppenents in Melee Ranged. (Keep them crippled.) On Heavy Enchant users apply your degen strip them then when the try to cast HB or MR, interupt them. When opponents are at 40% heath or so hit them with Finish Him. To beat Bison keep the degen on him, interupt his purge signet and DONT let him touch you.
I have beat him several times this way.

STEP ASIDE i have the EASIEST and FASTEST way to kill magni on a necro, heres what you need....
N/ME
ebon vanguard assassin support
you move like a dwarf
fetid ground
vile miasma
necrosis
grenths balance
ignorance
bitter chill
ill keep the walkthrough as simple as possible....
cast vanguard sin support as soon as the battle starts, then knock the enemy down with you move like a dwarf, then IMMEDIATELY cast fetid ground to get the poison, then vile miasma then necrosis. the order is 12345, and the enemy is dead by then. it's really easy, the only opponent you may have trouble with is one of the monks or warrior i forget the names if you practice it for a little while you dont even need 5-8
kiling magni
all you need is you move like a dwarf and fetid ground for killing magni. first, you knock him down and put fetid on him, then kite around the perimiter of the arena, and wait until JUST AFTER he uses his condition remover (can't recall the name), then kock him down, use fetid, and repeat until he is dead.

Really the only skill you need. And at least R4+ Norn and other skills if you wish.
Spam Ursan Strike and run back to your gate with Ursan Force to de-aggro Magni(he'll walk all the way back to his starting spot.)

Standard 55 gear with a blood headpiece. That's enough regen to survive even Tydus. Mhenlo seems to be a 105 rather than a 55, since he kills himself instantly. All of the melee are insanely easy. Actually, Zehtuka is probably the hardest since he rarely attacks you directly, which can hurt your energy a lot.
Spirit Spam X/Rt:
[skill]vampirism[/skill][skill]pain[/skill][skill]bloodsong[/skill][skill]anguish[/skill][skill]wanderlust[/skill][skill]shadowsong[/skill][skill]summon spirits[/skill][skill]painful bond[/skill]
Works for any caster class. +20e staff is probably best option. Summon in order listed while behind the gate, then use summon spirits as soon as you cross the doorway. Cast painful bond and KABLOOM. For Bison, let him get blinded and use his purge sig once before you painful bond him. If someone gets off a firestorm or worries you with their 10% chance to hit through blind, just use summon spirits to yank them out of harm's way. (BTW: This build is at something like 30 wins and zero losses for my rit primary.)

this Rt build seems like it would be pretty good on a hero too, but there are skills that heroes cant have.... any suggestions for hero skills?? pm me, cuz i know this is in the necro forum....

Does this actually work??? You can't exactly "spam" Ursan Strike because it has a three-second recharge, and it's a touch skill. So while you're spamming it, he gets to hit you too. That's the part that hurts.
And running away with Ursan Force doesn't sound right either, because if you don't get in any hits, eventually your ursan will run out and you'll just be standing there with no energy.

I believe the double riposte + grenth's balance will do the trick. I should check it up though since I've never used it before...
