count in your head. there will be no sign that it is wearing off untill it is totaly gone, and then the up arrow will go away unless they have another enchantment on them. so otherwords, just keep a mental tab on when you cast it and how long its been.

If the Enchantment(s) are on you the default location where you can keep track of their status is on the Upper left hand corner of the screen. There is a small bar on the bottom each enchantment icon that goes down showing you how long you have left, and about 2 seconds before it drops the icon will start flashing.
However.... If you mean Enchantments on other people... yeah the only thing telling you that a ally (or enemy) is enchanted is that yellow arrow at the end of the bar.

You have to keep track. It's one of the few player skill elements left in the game.

enchants up at the top left of the screen blink before going off letting you know they are expiring. Just for example Healing Breeze, when it's about to expire it starts to blink.

yup. all you can do is keep a mental tab, there's no other way. and as holy said, this is one of the few things that involve player skill that are left in the game.

I agree entirely with Lena and Holy on this, you don't know unless you keep track in your head. Another good ways is say the skill had a 10 seconds recharge and lasts for 20 seconds, just watch the skill icon. Other than that you just need to keep a mental note on who and when you applied it on. The other obvious way, if no other enchantments are on that ally, is wait for the yellow arrow to dissappear. Hope I helped

There is another--immenintly easier yet oft overlooked--way to know when a spell is wearing off of another player. This handy trick can even tell you when a prot has been stripped, which prot and often by what:
http://www.ventrilo.com/
Questions of skill aside, a team that watches themselves as much as targetlocking onto the enemy (PvE or PvP) kites more under pressure, doesn't cast through hex and daze, is more apt to use wall-block tactics against projectiles properly and is in general more aware of the situation and game to which they are playing. This, on a whole, improves team performance.
I know thats not always possible to achieve. In fact, there are gametypes (RA being chief amoung them) that are specifically designed to dismiss such communication. My point is, if you've evolved enough to be counting your prots, you should (by this time in your gaming carreer) be SERIOUSLY considering moving to arenas (or teams if you are PvE only) where VOIP coms play a more critical role.

Heh. And here I was, thinking I was being clever by coding basically the same thing by hand.
Good find, thanks.
EDIT: Nvm. That program is not designed for this type of usage. I might have to clean up my code and release it if there is a demand.

thanks

Just count. Prot Spirit is pretty long for enchant so its one that you can bypass unless target is under fire for more than ~20 seconds. If the target is, and unless there's an important reason not to, tell the moron to move his ass.

When you play with a similar set of skills for along time, you start to be able to just feel when the skill is wearing off, when it's about to finish recharging etc without even looking at it.
one thing to keep in mind is if you have ench +20% mod on your weapon, that will obviously increase your enchantment length so you can't count the exact number of seconds that a skill says it will recharge
then you add on if you have HCT and/or HSR 20% mods... these will throw off your counting alot because only happens 20% of the time etc .. so until you get fully used to it, go ahead and count, just work on feeling when it's gonna be up and you'll be fine
