Halloween Farming ~ Decayed Orr Emblems: Gates of Kryta
Halloween Event Coming
Join us in Kamadan and Lion's Arch this weekend and beyond as we celebrate Halloween! The event will begin with decorated cities on Thursday, and will culminate with multiple appearances of Mad King Thorn on October 31st. See the website for more details.
Halloween event is coming up and people are starting to ask questions like: "Where do I get Decayed Orr Emblems?"
A lot of people already know this run , but there are still people out there who don't.
1)
Go to Gates of Kryta
2)
Start the mission on NM, You will find yourself here.
3)
When you're at the gate you will see 2 NPC's on your radar. They are going to be you bait . Run following the white line in the picture.
4)
The group of undead will attack the farmers if you avoid them. Run following the white line in the picture.
5)
If you ran correctly you will see some rangers and hellhounds starting to move. Run back following the white line in the picture's radar. (Towards Oink)
You might get aggro here so if you are using a 55hp build use PS and Regen spell
6)
Run to Oink's house.
7)
Run following the white line on the picture's radar.
8)
You will see a Hellhound, if you get close to him 4-5 Grasping Ghouls will pop-up.
9)
Kill them
10)
Now the fun part starts, a huge amount of undead will come for revenge.
Kill them.
This run doesn't take long and gives me between 1 and 12 Emblems each run
BUILDS:
55hp SOJ build
Template code: Owok4wPHEuiT94uuSYvGELCAReA
W/Rt VWK build
Template code: OQgjEhVaIPWMiXahgxT4LdFDLA
Dervish Build (Untested I don't have a Dervish)
Template Code: OgOjkqrLrOf71b3m9OelH6jDMA
E/mo Sandstorm Earth Tank
Template code OgNFkMjt6yHjrgr+V5h+QQiIReA
W/Mo
Template code OQMV0Q3FRJXDC8RpYHkvwwyfYhYkAA (Attributes aren't perfect I think)
There are other builds that can do this, so if you have one that is faster (or gives more drops) or from a different proffesion, please add it.

But I did run that type build pre factions, i think it used to be Gladiator's Defense + Cyclone Axe + Live Vicariously + Vigorous Spirit + Bonetti's Defense and mabye Healing Breeze... but I tried to adapt to include new expansions skills guess it just isn't as productive as it used to be when there were 6 classes and only 90 elites etc. Sorry about that
EDIT: Here are some builds for people who don't have a warrior/ele/monk/dervish at this mission in Tyria. All of these builds at 1 time or another have been posted somewhere but I'm trying to bring them all together so they can be seen in one place. The mesmer one is untested by me because I lack a slot for a PvE mesmer, but would love to hear if it works, looking at the enchantment durations and the degen facing you the Necro/Mesmer builds should provide an extra 3 pips of regen while at the max degen from the undead in the area.
NECROMANCER-55Necro:
Curses: 12+3+1
Healing Prayers: 9
Protection Prayers: 9
Soul Reaping: 3+3
Death Magic: 0+3
Blood Magic 0+3
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Shield of Absorption
Shielding Hands
Spiteful Spirit{E}
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
Essence Bond(Haven't tested but drop this for Reckless haste for faster kills if you can hold your energy fine with this build)
RANGER-Holy Barrager:
Marksmanship: 12+3+1
Expertise: 9+1
Healing Prayers: 9
Smiting Prayers: 3
Barrage{E}
Judge's Insight
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Vigorous Spirit
Healing Breeze
Mending
Live Vicariously
You will only have 1 pip of energy regen so a Zealous Bowstring would be extremely helpful. When starting this run grab Oink(by clicking on him) and run to the location behind the house and start shooting the Hellhound, Oink should run down and attack the hellhound in doing so he will most likely trigger the grasping ghouls, if not you will trigger them when you run down later. If done correctly oink should body block and cause the undead to focus on him, and him being invincible you could stay at this all day(provided you are attacking something otherwise i believe he looses interest). If any spawn behind Oink or get past him use Vigorous Spirit, then Lightning Reflexes then Whirling then Lightning again when it recharges... If you do not get aggro HB/VS will not be necesarry to cast just spam Barrage. A Zealous Bow of Enchanting with 15% while enchanting would be superb for this build. After saying all this ranger is probably one of the slower farms because they dont have any major AoE skills other than barrage but if this is your only PvE character at GoK you have the ability to farm!
MESMER-55IW Mesmer:
Illusion Magic: 12+3+1
Healing Magic: 9
Protection Magic: 9
Fast Casting: 3+3
Inspiration Magic: 1+3
Domination Magic: 0+3
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Shield of Absorption
Shielding Hands
Illusionary Weaponry{E}
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
Essence Bond or Channeling(As with the necro build if your energy is fine with just balthazar's Spirit bring Ancestral/Sympathetic Visage or Soothing Images)
I suggest carrying a Scythe of Enchanting for this build so you may hit 3 mobs at once. Other than that I would love to hear feedback about this and whether it works in this setting.
RITUALIST-55Rit:
Channeling Magic: 12+3+1
Healing Magic: 9
Protection Magic: 9
Spawning Power: 3+3
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Shield of Absorption
Shielding Hands
Splinter Weapon
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
Essence Bond(As with the above builds drop this for Ancestor's Rage)
Wield a Scythe of Enchanting and this should take down all things quickly because you should be dealing around 150 damage via splinter weapon x3(for scythe attack).
Another build that could be run is dropping Splinter weapon for Vengeful was Khanhei{E} and moving all your attribute points to Restoration from Channeling.
Another build for ritualist that works in hard mode is RezDoGG's 330 Rit found at this post: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10175262
ASSASSIN-SF/Sliver Armor:
Shadow Arts: 12+3+1
Earth Magic: 12
Deadly Arts: 3+1
Shadow Form{E}
Death's Charge
Deadly Paradox
Shadow of Haste
Glyph of Elemental Power
Sliver Armor
Aftershock
Tenai's Crystals
This build is probably the worst of all of them up there and if you can come up with a better one for those out there with only an Assassin post it please... but the concept behind this is the exact same as the Elemental Sword farm run, trigger Deadly Paradox, followed by Shadow Form, followed by Shadow of Haste( at the very top of the hill ), then run down to the Hellhound and cast Death's Charge, then Glyph of Elemental Power, Sliver Armor, Aftershock, Tenai's Crystals and wait for the first 4 ghouls and hellhound to die, this should happen around when SF is ending so you trigger deadly paradox. Rinse and repeat, I do understand this is a very slow build but it should work.
PARAGON:
Spear Mastery: 12+3+1
Earth Prayers: 10
Leadership: 8+1
Holy Spear
Blazing Spear
Barbed Spear
Focused Anger{E}
Mystic Regeneration
Conviction
Armor of Sanctity
Veil of Thorns

When HM first came out I did that run hundereds of times, but not for emblems. I would take it a little further though and continue around the bend there and not stop until I got back to the boss that's across the gorge near where you start. Basically travelling in a big "U" shape. Got some pretty sweet dead bows and sephis axes from the run too. It's just too bad the prices on them spiraled into the toilet 'cuz every man and his dog was doing that run.

@Jade For normal drops this run sucks now, but it's still a good spot for emblems
@Ayame Ftw: Smiting is a bit faster, but the run to get there takes a bit longer, 55hp smiter is maybe 10-20 sec faster, but I think 55hp is a bit less fun, and it kills my drops

That's a secret,
Only intelligent people can ask me something (Dumbasses don't understand how to get my IGN )
And yes it is possible Orr emblems won't be collected this year, but so far every Tyrian event collected Emblems

Has there been an announcement or confirmation that there will be a Halloween event this year?
Last year for Halloween and Wintersday, I just farmed Termite Legs and those things the Plant guys drop for my holiday items. I just ran around with a ranger with run skills and one shot or two shot killed the monsters I needed to.

Well, I am not forcing you to farm this way, I am just telling everyone what's my best spot , this spot works for me.
Yet it isn't confirmed there will be a Halloween event, but I think there will be.
But there is a Halloween Art Contest, so probably there will be an event

You know you can just click the little arrow sign on the far end of chat box to close it up, instead of making yourself look like a ignorant asshole?

I know, but I am not stopping the talk with my guildies to make you stop thinking I am "a(n) ignorant asshole"
Just make your own guide or don't use mine if you don't like it.
Off-Topic: I always love it when people say things like that in such a nice way

I think Stealth's reply is rather harsh. Anyways if I find myself farming for holiday items and get bored, I may try this one out too.

The more you have the more things you can trade them for. On a side note the collectors also take charr carvings and gargoyle skulls (singed?). The best place I've found for charr carvings is The Great Northern Wall mission. Just run back at the end and charge the charr, if you do it right, you can bottleneck all of them, cast meteor shower (or whatever AoE) and they all die. As for the skulls I would go back to the old faithful, oustide Nolani Academy. There's a boatload of them out there.
