Eastern Frontier Vanquish
Hey guys, so I'm Vanquishing Tyria right now on my Necromancer and I've hit a brick wall that really is starting to annoy the hell out of me.
First off, I'll say that my team is a 4-man team which consists of me running my SS build, Dunkoro with a heal/protection mix and UA, Master of Whispers with the Jagged Bones MM build, and Razah with SoS.
I'm getting my ass kicked at the graawls that you run into right as you leave Frontier Gate on the left, on the road to Surmia. I can clear everything else just fine, except for those stupid graawls. I've tried to change heroes, brought along Olias as a N/Rt healer and I've brought along interrupters (both Ranger and Mesmer). I've brought an Elementalist nuker. Blegh, I'm just about to the end of my rope with ideas on what to do.
Anyway, if anyone can throw a bone to a tired dog, I'd appreciate it. Any suggestions on how to do this? Or even just stories on how you did it?

I tried to do it an number of times unsuccesfully, with numerous different builds. Then I tried discordway, a summon stone and a conset, did it np. I cleared every grawl I could find before the conset ran out, then everything else was ezpz.

I did it without much trouble with Discordway on my ranger (AP/YAAW/EVAS/Pet) caller.

Not sure what your access to PVE skills is but what helped in my vanquishing was EVAS and Finish Him. If you can spike the healers and kill with finish him it helps out a lot or they just heal each other and it gets really tough. When I vanquished that area I was a warrior with a modified Sabway build. The area was tough but got through pretty well. Good Luck

I did it on a Warrior running standard discord. The only trouble I had on this one was when I over pulled some char, got wiped and accidently ran out the portal (I only had those char left.) But you should have read the wiki which says those grawl are hard and whenever that's the case discord is your only choice.

Discord is NOT your only choice.... Try dropping the mm, SoS provides enough of a wall and damage with out the minions. I would try taking a mesmer. Have it run an anti melee build with interrupts. I would assume you have some PvE skills, so i would recommend taking finish him and assassin support. Just keep the pressure on the healers and they won't be a problem.

I did it without problems running a SoS build (with my monk), and bringing some variant of the sab heroes if i remember correctly (jagged, ss, sv+resto heals). Another thing you can try and that, i think, could be successful is the spirit way, SoS (you), 2 soul twisting (one with attacking spirits like dissonance, disenchantment, etc., the other with protective spirits like shelter, union, displacement) and a necro/ritu healer.
Or, you could use an AP build with ebon vanguard assassin, barbs, mark of pain, YMLaD! (to spike and knockdown/interrupt the healers). Remember that also the vanguard assassin can kd foes if you use it against a monster suffering from a hex or a condition.
If you want to try it together, my IGN is Kathreen Whitelight (euro timezone).

Runners can do it with 3 people (client is AFK) so you should be able to do it with 4.
I had problem here first time because I underestimated growl healers en masse and entered with the wrong build. Here's what you need:
EMo protter
Spirits, and lots of them
You yourself should just switch to Rt secondary and pack some spirits that your hero doesn't use.
That's it, 3 of you can do it.

I did it just a couple of weeks ago with my main (warrior) and a slightly modified discord team (2 x FoMF). Even with a summon + cons it was hard as hell just because of all the healing, but I did get through it in the end.
For me it was just a matter of carefully pulling one patrol at a time, then microing my heroes to trigger a big enough discord spike to break through the healing. Sometimes I also had to try and back them into a wall to stop them kiting, so I could do some damage too.

Here's my solution:
Use a curse necro (you or hero), with a classic curse bar (enfeebling blood, barbs, MoP, etc). The most important skill on this bar is the elite, which is "Soul Bind". Cast SB on recharge on all grawl enemies, starting with the wars. SB the monks as well, and then spike them with your hero support. It doesn't matter whether you use discord/sabway/otherway as long as you have some basic protting and good spiking abilities.
Bring PI/sin support/Finish him to speed things up.
Use a summoning stone as well.
No need of cons
I did it for a customer last week - worked very well (did the rest of the map 3 man)

Thanks for the tips guys. I finally finished it yesterday with my normal Dunk/Razah/MoW group. Not sure if this had anything to do with my success, but I brought Scourge Healing along so that after a while, the healers would have to heal themselves (Run out of Mana/Waste time) or die.
Thanks for all the tips! I'm sure they would've worked if I had gotten the chance to try them all. :3 Now I'm going on to the Breach~!

Technobabble, diversion etc all make the grawl healers not very hard. Spirits/summon stone etc as a wall With the mesmer update around as well now, theres no reason not to chuck Gwen/Norgu in your vanquishing lineup. You should never have to deal with more then 2 of the grawl healers at a time.
