Summoning stones - what summons to use?
I'd like to spice things up a bit so I'm looking at many consumables, if nothing else then for the fun of it. But I'd also like to know what can I expect from each crafted summon:
Juggernaut
Siege Turtle
Kveldulf
Devourer
Raptor
Ooze
I don't want to water discussion down, so just these.
* How does Juggernaut Aura work? +1 energy regen is while standing inside aura, or when Juggernaut casts that skill those in range get +1 regen for longer time (how long?)
* What is offense of these summons, roughly estimated (I mean their ranking not necessarily actual DPS)? I assume melee summon suffer from AI problems, however, when I look at Ooze I'm thinking how much damage that summon will do with a wand/staff or whatever it uses, as it won't quite spam those few spells (actually only one is normal range).
* How would they be ranked in defense? That is, which ones are likely to die fast(er) and which ones are likely to survive these 30min?
* And lastly, I currently play spiritway, and as a Mesmer I play in caster teams in any case. Having this in mind, I assume Turtle would be the best summon overall? How would the others rank? And, currently Channeling Rt has no one to put Splinter on because everyone is caster and they dont really put that on minions, so melee summon would be useful in that regard?

All I can tell you is after using countless stones, I have only had a turtle survive anything, he is a beast compared to the rest.

1. Juggernaut regen works by standing near by it. In my opinion, its not worth it.
2. I don't know much about defenses of stones but it seems turtle and ooze is best. Turtle has Turtle Shell.
3. Like I said I don't know much about defense. However, the turtle always survived for me. I recommend the turtle.
4. I'll say turtle is best overall for spirit way.
In my opinion, best summoning stone: Siege Turtle
The only annoying thing is he gets on top of ya.

I know you are not looking at this but the Mysterious Summoning Stones, from the traveler, are cheaper (Most players have lots they dont use so buying is easy) and generally will give you an equally effective summon. None of the above are worth the money to craft them.

I know they are not quite worth it, which is why i said it's for fun. I'll try Mysterious ones too.

Yesterday i was doing Slavers Excile, i had a Gaki Summon with me, he survived all the way till the 30 mins were gone.
And in Urgoz two days ago, we had a merchant and he lived from room 5 or 6 up untill urgoz

Yeah, the merch is surprisingly good.
Devourer wins for me though:
1. Volley and Forked Arrow... add Great Dwarf Weapon or Splinter Weapon, EBSoH for very tasty damage and/or KD's. Mass interrupts too if you brought Technobabble.
2. Lightning Reflexes for IAS and defense
3. Applies conditions with Poison Tip Signet and Hunters Shot
4. Troll Unguent for self healing.
5. Attacks from range
6. Doesn't fill your screen like a turtle
Ranged AoE attacks, IAS + defense stance, degen conditions, self healing... makes it very useful and an excellent survivor.

Very very powerful.
Also I like Gaki, Juggenaut, Oni and Siege Turtle.

Not really if you dont need to sell items, and from what I've seen of merchants others summoned, he likes to wander around as well which is OK in itself but not what I'm looking for. Wiki also says loot is assigned to him, does that mean to all summons or just him?

The turtle is good while it lasts, but I found while vanquishing that it didn't last very long generally speaking. The Juggie is usually pretty nice for a caster party... the extra +1 can certainly be a boon, and he seems to not die overly fast. Even though its not on your list, I have found the Oni to be the best survivor, and is quite effective offensively as well. I'd say I like the gaki... but let's face it... who wants to have a weird goat man in a loin cloth running around your screen for 30 minutes? WTB pants for Gaki summons.
Good hunting.

Merchant is fun. Until he steals your q8 Max gold item.
It's a known fact that merchants can actually have drops assigned to them. Then you have to wait until the drop becomes unassigned :P

Is there any trick I could use, to make my heroes and henchmen automatically heal summons? Vekk seems to heal even minions, but he let's my summon die. I bound Infuse to a key, so I can at least do it 'myself' fast when needed, but I really don't understand why they don't do it automatically.
