Which Hall
I recently created a 1-man guild due to being addicted to AB.
Note : I use that hall as a "pocket plane"
Anyway I bought the Corrupted Island for the otherworldly feeling, but grew tired of the creepy look.
I would change for a more "friendly" hall. I am currently looking at either
Kurzick themed (Ilse of weeping stone) because the trees give a feeling the whole world is closed around you (as opposed to an open sky)
or Pre-searing themed (Wizard's Isle) simply because it would be the kind of scenery I love and would shape a personnal plane as. (does the last sentence make sense?)
Anyone have idea for other hall that would fit the pocket plane feeling. I'm not asking for definitive choice but for some opinions.

Isle of the Dead, based on the Catacombs from Pre.
The outside is a bit open, but all the NPCs are in a labyrinth looking area, there's some fountains a mural to Grenth, some Forgotten artwork, gargoyles, candle lit ... It's a great hall

Burning Isle
It's something different, and it's pretty cool.
Only problem is, you gotta take a trek to get to the AB NPC coz they really far away :P

Yeah, now that I think of it I over looked The Dead because I once had a guild with that hall for too long. Tought the labyrinth feel would fit nicely.
And about the creepy feeling : Corrupted Isle is Abadon-creepy, The Dead is... calm-like creepy?
I'm not really in love with Burning Isle. I actually start sweating when I enter it. And I just came out of Frozen Isle...
Btw who remember the Jade Isle enough to tell if it looks opened or not?

We have Isle of Meditation.
I always was a fan of the Factions scenery - but the reason why it's REALLY nice is because of it's superb NPC locations.

Our guild uses Isle of Meditation, it's a beautiful piece of work (especially the waterfall) and all of the NPCs are easily accessible and don't require a long walk to get to.

If you're a fan of the Crystal Desert, I recommend the Nomad's Isle. Isle of Solitude may also work if you're into Vabbian decadence.
Since you're in a one-man-guild, though, it all comes down to your personal choice. I didn't like NPC locations in the Isle of the Dead, and while Isle of Meditation has a storage right there, the constant sound of the waterfall annoys me. For my one-man-guild (I Never Wanted A Guild [Hall]), I picked Nomad's Isle, both for the fond memories of Prophecies and the name

Yeah I know. I tought of Nomad for the exact same reason but opted for the closed pocketpplane RP-explanation. That's basically how they work, don't they : you're in town, activate the trigger (I love to imagine my chars playing with a necklace worn at the neck or on the belt) and disappear. I just wonder how I found a merchant willing to come live in a small parcel of reality stolen from the Realm of Torment for the sake of 1 person (or 8 if you count every char indepently).
But it's always fun to discuss personnal choice with complete strangers thought a message board, don't you think?
On another note, are there still people with the original 3 halls. And what's everyone's tought about Wizard's Isle?

How? Everything is right there, with out being in your face. I'm stuck in Hunter's Isle atm, and that NPC config drives me crazy.

The walls, man. The walls are watching...
Ahem. I mean, the walls are in the way, and the storage chest is not the first thing you can get to (by pressing V); you have to turn around and pick your targets manually. While the NPCs are indeed close by, Isle of Meditation beats Isle of the Dead for storage access and the AB NPCs.

I thought about Wizard's Isle when getting my hall. The scenery is awesome, but NPC locations are not the most convenient if you intend to AB a lot. If you're going for style rather than functionality and like the pre-sear look, I would recommend it.
As for pocket planes... if Glint can have a lair in a single grain of sand, why can't I have mine shaped like a desert island, with a "Canthan boat" for back-and-forth access?

I don't know if anyone really cares about it but...
In the end I decided to go for Wizard's Isle.
The scenery beats Isle of the Dead and if you stay in the castle itself, it can actually looks like a fort in some endless plain.
And for the NPCs, that'll just make wandering around more interesting (hopefully)
