Searched and couldn't find anything on this. But if someone could please link me a build for Mesmer of assassin to counter the pesky touch rangers that would be great. Or if you could just tell me somethings that work well against touchers.

"The Toucher" is a absolute simpleton and as a sesult he is the easyest thing in the game to counter, Keep the Idiot Criped and Kite away extra Style points for Poison , Bleading or both Condis your Friend Mshot ranger is Best Suited for dealing with the for the absolute Bonehead we all know as "The Toucher"

Counters to Touch Rangers are overly-simple. Use anti-spammer strategies, such as [[Diversion] or [[Distracting Shot]. As the ranger needs to get within touch range, just stay away from them. Use any combination of snares, kiting and knockdowns to achieve this. The life stolen per second is not enough to overcome focused damage and health degeneration. Condition based degeneration won't work unless combined with a snare, as they just use [[Plague Touch] to pass it on. [[Blackout]. [["Can't Touch This!"]. [[Atrophy] can be used to reduce the toucher energy very quickly.

bring a snare. problem solved. cant touch this blows because all the toucher has to do is mash the touch skills until they go through, the energy doesnt even get spent (i think).

most effective way is just kite them and cripple them ..don't try to over power them with a sin or a warrior ....u can't ....

As a sin just palm strike him and leave him there for a better suited class ...a snare water elementalist can seriously rape the touch ranger ..

The best way is to use a hex snare like [[crippling anguish]. Cripple and Poison are not effective if the touch ranger brings [[antidote signet] (unless you plan to interrupt it with [[distracting shot] as a follow through). Bring [[signet of humility] to disable their [[Offering of Blood] and bring energy/skill denial mesmer skills.

Diversion, arcane larceny, arcane thievery, Visions of Regret. Not all at once.
Dumb touchers, if you hex them with VoR, will, like dumb assassins, happily kill themselves. Smarter touchers need to get diverted.
Signet of humility to disable the elite.
Cry of frustration.
I haven't seen mobs of touchers in a while...if you roll mesmer, a good general domination build will do just fine.

They spend the energy, but don't care, since they can just OoB for a refill anyway.

Snares are all they're worth; pack anti-block for an easy kill. They ain't -shit- without their stances.

don't use [can't touch this]! it's an awful skill that serves no purpose whatsoever!
you have quite a few counters to silly touch rangers, I will include specific counters from the Mesmer and Assassin tool box, just like you asked.

Snares- in your case [crippling anguish][ethereal burden][imagined burden][crippling dagger]. Touchers dont hex Hex nor Condition removal so as long as they're snared they cant get to you.
Interrupts- in your case [leech signet][disrupting dagger]. Touchers are very predictable, therefore easy to interrupt their skills. unfortunatly neither the Mesmer nor the Assassin line offers good non spell interrupts, so you're stuck with these 2, Rangers on the other hand have [distracting shot] and [magebane shot] which both disable skills as well as interrupt them, being a lot more useful.
Anti Spam skills- in your case [diversion][guilt][shame][blackout]. you can count on Touchers to spam [vampiric touch] and [vampiric bite] make them pay for it. P.S Shame is useful for their [offering of blood]

these are all pretty general counters that are useful for a lot of things, not just Touchers, so it's not like you need to bring a specific counter for silly Touchers.

lol, touchers. they are bad because i can just snare them and run away lol countered!
never mind the real reasons they're bad - no deep wound on a frontline, need to spam two skills to keep up mediocre dps, absolutely useless when those skills get dshotted or diverted - i just say "bring cripshot lulz" because then i can kite them. this is what makes touchers bad, along with every other melee build in the game if you follow my line of reasoning! all those people running warriors and winning games are just shitters.
also, yes: i overlooked the fact that the other team could just as easily bring a snare and then the toucher can catch me. but toucher still = bad because lol cripshot.
in conclusion: OP, bring cripshot lol, you will rape all the toucher noobs because i'll bet they forgot about snares when they picked a silly melee build. and don't worry, the other team will not be able to snare you too because lol touchers.

btw this is directed at the few people who basically said "lol snares>toucher and by extension all melees", not the ones who also mentioned things like diversion and dshot.

edit: and wtf why is this in the campfire? it's a pvp issue. i always get shit for talking about pvp in the profession-specific sub-forums of the campfire despite the lack of sub-forums for profession-specific discussion in the gladiator's arena, so i demand justice; move this to the gladiator's arena at once or i will be forced to issue a formal complaint!
