Default second account

I finally broke down and ordered a second account so I can do a 6-hero Discordway. Yummy. I got GW Trilogy and maybe will get EotN as well later. I can figure out how to run two GW.EXE's on one PC from other posts, or I'll use two PC's.

If I use two PC's I might be able to use the second character as support as well. Maybe make it a bonding monk or something that I don't have to micro manage. Does anyone have experience with that - would that be workable?

Or do you recommend another profession? My main character is a monk right now, so it's kind of silly to get another monk. Maybe a bonding Rit or something?

I don't see the need for 2 accounts to do most of the stuff in GW however It's your money IMO.

Since your main is a monk, I'd probably make an ele with wards or a rit.

Seems like a very inefficient way of playing, having to re-apply bonds when/if they get stripped, going from PC to PC moving the "dummy" player along with you...

Personally I'd rather just steal 3 discord heroes off a mate rather than buy a second account for that purpose. But yes, whatever floats your boat.

I suppose out of all professions you could use as a "dummy" player a Monk Bonder might be the easiest option.

The only upside I see to this is if you wanted to caravan vanquish you could take the other player's Discord team over the threshold with you and not lose them.

For vanquishes or elite zones, enter the target zone with both accounts + heroes. Have the secondary account leave. All 6 heroes will follow your primary around. And yes 6 heroes are much stronger than 3 hero + 4 henchmen.

This trick will not work if you want to chain-vanquish areas or dungeons though. Whenever you zone, if the player who brought them isn't there, the heroes will not follow. The major problem you are going to have is the 3 heroes will follow the 2nd account around, meaning you need to move both of them. Unless you are going to mess with bot territory like a script that constantly space-follows your primary character, this is going to be a pain no matter how you slice it.

he'll want to keep the second account with him so that both accounts progress through the game at the same time. don't want to do everything twice. it will be extremely annoying though to make the 2ndary follow u though. of course, if u do a script for the 2ndary to follow u, it will be fairly undetectable outside with no one else. bots usually only get noticed by reports of repetitive actions within towns a.k.a. old kurz HFFF. bonder would be alright i guess. just keep an eye on it every so often for stripped enchants.

Isn't there a program on this site that allows you to run two accts at the same time on the same computer?

here it is try this:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...highlight=GWx2

This way you are not switching between two mice trying to keep everyone together.

I don't really see much of a problem with this idea -- especially when caravan vanquishing, even if you just bring henches and the extra account and just AFK the whole time, if you vanquished from ToA to Ascalon, you'd make at least 20k or so, another account would double that.

thanks for comments.

- it's a pain to borrow friends' heroes all the time. It's easier to have your own
- using my existing account, I intend to run the new monk thtough all three campaigns in NM (proph / factions / NF) since I need access to HM for the new account
- only Nightfall will be a bit tricky because you need a certain Lightbringer rank to continue. The rest NM will be a breeze.
- I will start him in NF, so he can get heroes right away and then pick up his necroes first. Probably my existing account needs to run him to some of the towns to get the hero quests and the skills.
- yes, it is easier to zone out with the second account and keep 6 heroes. But if you do multiple levels you lose the heroes of the second account. So in those cases I intend to keep the second account guy somewhere close. And if I do that, I might as well use him - hence the bonder idea.
- The only thing is then that his heroes will follow him, so you have to keep him close. Re-thinking this, the latter will probably too much of a pain in the @ss

Use Key-Clone much easier, I personally have played World of Warcraft with 5 accounts on 1 computer doing this.

With 2 accounts, you have certain advantages so it is not necessarily a total waste of money.

1. You have more character slots, so you can have all classes if you wish.
2. You can double your xunlai tournament winnings - double zkeys
3. You can double your daily gain of balthazar's factions from Zaishen elite - double zkeys
4. Double the stash and inventory space
5. Extra character to hold your loot and double the pickable drops when exploring together. Double chance of opening locked chests in explorable areas. Double NF keyless treasure chests.
6. Run your own 600/smite farming with all drops pickable for yourself, like I do. An extra character for UW farming for res and extra damage.
7. More powerful to use 6 heroes build and twice the number of PvE skills per team since you have 2 characters.
8. Get twice the chance to open end dungeon chests
9. Get twice the reward when doing quests together
10. You can get one character to run the other. Easier to get survivor title with another character helping you leech anytime you need.

I have my computer desks arranged at 90 degrees to each other with a computer each. They all have wireless keyboard and mice. Put one keyboard on the desk and the other keyboard on your lap.

As long as you have your character selected, pressing space would automatically make the other character follow it so you just need to move your main character and keep pressing space for the other character to follow. It is also easier to bring skills that do not need a target (e.g. wards, Light of Deldrimor, shouts, Aegis, Spirits, etc.) on your secondary character. You can hit the number keys on your secondary keyboard, on your lap, from time to time during combat.
