if you intend on playing solo most of the time, i would go with paragon.
but if you ever want to group with people, i would go necro because there are more roles that you can fill (and less likely that you get bored), plus a lot of people still don't think paragons are good and you might have a hard time finding a group.

Imba's are nice to have but boring to play. Necros are more fun to play, except being a mm, that is quite boring imho.

because many of the GOOD paragon skills are PvE only and necro spots can be taken by heroes, go with the necro. Unless of course, you bore easily, at which point everyone who says necro is right. pros and cons suck dont the ^^. all up to you in the end to decide.

Paragon is definitely superior in most cases for the player character if you only have one. However playing PvE paragon is also just about the most boring thing in the world; at least if you're running the standard bar, which is, unfortunately, the best by a huge margin.

imbagon is better.
necro can be more fun if you're h/hing or if your guild doesn't want you on an orders bitch instead of an MoP nuker (i would want an orders bitch over an MoP nuker). of course you can always run the mop nuker anyway and just say it's more fun, but don't expect them to be your physical-damage-on-a-stick bitches like your heroes are. when playing with humans physicals are men and casters are the bitches, so you'll have to make sure you hex what they're attacking instead of hexing and pinging whoever you want ;D

Well, that's the problem. When you play the MoP nuker, you ARE the caller, and the physicals damn well better accept that they're your henchmen.
A MoP will multiply the damage FAR more than an "Orders bitch"... so it shouldn't be impossible to convince people to actually do as you say.

except MoP requires foes to be relatively balled up to do that tons of damage and if i wanted to play tanknspank-ish with other humans instead of run around and blow shit up i'd run cryway.

Except that people are stupid. In fact, half the time they'll probably insist that you need to run SS . Guildies shouldn't be too thick though.

Although spamming Mark of Pain with Assassin's Promise is easy and more efficient, and PvE monsters sort of clump together in groups anyway.

You haven't run an AP/MoP bar yourself, have you?
First of all, you have [Barbs]. There's your "Orders" right there. Then you have [Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support]. Every time you kill something you can throw another of those up.
The AP machine is basically an engine for the abuse of ridiculous PvE-only skills, as well as some normal ones with a huge recharge time.
You don't need to run "Tank-n-Spank" for a MoP bar to be effective - in fact, it's not a good idea, because Mark induces a lot of scatter. Everytime you kill, you have another MoP, and another pain focus.

yeah i've played it and it was pretty fun seeing lots of numbers.
but when i play with other people i run physicals, and when i run physicals i want to run around and go crazy killing things without some midline telling me what to swing at or worrying about how effective the MoP will be on the current mob formation. if i ran a necro in a human group i'd definitely use the mop build and tell the warriors to f off. when necros do this to me i say ok whatever. and mobs still die.
i'm not trying to argue that orders is better and that i want one because it will kill mobs faster. i'm trying to argue why i like having an orders over an mop when i'm a physical. i usually end up just using a hero for orders anyway because it doesn't mind and there aren't any human necros. mop is definitely more efficient if you play with it in mind but pve isn't where i go to play with maximum efficiency at the expense of running around hitting things like an idiot and still winning.
tl;dr: the main point of my argument is that if the OP wants to run MoP nuker in a human team he shouldn't expect everyone one else to be his physical damage slaves unless you're in a pve-is-serious-business group so you won't get the same results as you would with heroes. it might be more fun for him in at the expense of the physicals (at least physicals the way i like to play) in the same way orders would be more fun for me at the expense of the orders. naturally i'd want the more fun orders but i don't expect humans to play it because i tell them to. crap my tl;dr was pretty long too :/

Necro. If you're serious about getting them titles, boredom is your greatest enemy.
