Trying to decide between Necro and Para
Hello GWG. I'm trying to decide what PvE character to create, and I've narrowed it down to Paragons and Necro's. Paragons are great for elite missions and HM but my alliance does neither, Necro's are awesome for Farming and Duoing. I don't know which one to make so I came here. thanks.
Thnx marty lulz

Go with Necro. Easier to find teams, supported in all expansion packs, very versatile.
I played both, and I found Paragon's one dimensional. Not that their one dimension is bad, I love a good Paragon on my team, but the roles you play will never change.
With Necro you can MM tank, or go with curses and do lots of damage, or control the battlefield with Blood wells, life steals, and deenchantments.

well would you rather be casting, or support/damage?
all necros damage comes from casting, paras have decent dps and very nice support skills.
if you're wanting to get in a group more often i would say necro.
para's have imbagon which is insane. it is really up to you, do you want to be a caster? or dmg/support.
in either case i would recommend as a necro you run discord, as a para you run imbagon.
both are good classes, you should try them both out and see which one you like more.

Necro, for reasons above, if you're using a para it's imbagon or chant spam

i have a para and i love it, i don't run imbagon that much usually only in some dungeons, but there is a lot you can do with a paragon although as stated before you would most likely be getting in more groups with a necro and they are more versatile. Paragon IMO is better for titles if your a title person and a necro for more general gameplay. Good Luck!

I see you play a ton of para!
As para you will mostly be support damage, but there's lots of other things you can do with your para aswell as imbagon and shouting...
I play mine with an axe, hammer, sword, spear and even 600/smite with it... Just because other people say "If you wanna play hammer/axe/sword then go warrior" doesn't mean you have to follow them...
So if you wanna do good damage/support, have fun with hammers, swords and axes, chant support with motigon or commandogon, aaaannnndddd even 600, then go with para...
I, personally, have both, because I couldn't decide...

Yeh for reasons above go with necro. I recently tried para, expecting at least a good DPS, but found nothing that could match my expectations, although i did try a P/W with a sword, that was amusing for a while. Paragons IMO are best for chant spam imbagon etc, which can be really boring. Theres loads of uses for necros, 1HP BiP for 123builds in Elite Areas is probably the most common, or SS spaming with a monk in the UW. Or theyre just generally fun to play through the campaigns with.

Well,no need to be sarcastic...because if you want a party for HM missions or something, you are going to go IMBAgon or kicked....
If you are lucky...

Wait, what? What about Ursan/SY swap and Stunning Strike spam?
Baw. Non-Imbagon builds are unpopular X_X

and w/p beat p/w in pvp
if you're rich and have nothing to do, go with a paragon. you'd slice through PvE like a piece of cake with godly defence support to your party with an imbagon.
paragons aren't that good in pvp but they can run pretty well.
necros - current meta for pvp = [lingering curse]. ownage
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lingering_Curse - the description of lingering curse = wrong
can farm lots of stuffs - [spoil victor] - bosses . [spiteful spirit] for groups of monsters.
unlimited energy by abusing soul reaping in pve.
pretty cool looking as well.
i'd go for a necro if you ask me.

That I agree on! For HM Missions there isn't a decent para player that would choose something other than Imbagon... I just hate when people assume proffessions have only 1 role... Para's don't HAVE tol be imbagon ALL the time... That's all I was saying...

W/P better than P/W in PvP? How so?
How aren't Paragons good in PvP? Unstrippable buffs, good damage, high survivability, ranged, versatile, awesome utility. They shine in GvG and HA.
