If you have factions you can farm the Jade Brotherhood Knights outside the Marketplace with your Monk or Necro (probably War too). They drop alot of Jade Bracelets which salvage into 5-7 dust per.
Head over to the link below and see all the drops that salvage into and mobs that drop it. Then do a search to find a build you can use.

Hope this helps.

Also, the Djinn in Ahdashim drop it in stacks of 35, with their essence salvageing into it as well.

Salvages into a diamond/ruby/sapphire if you're lucky
Also, undead drop it frequently (the Tyrian ones anyway, not sure about the Elonians).

None of the above come close to farming fog nightmares. You can solo them as an n/e and duo it with mos. Ravagers as well, they're the same but apparently the can drop ecto, though that's more for entertainment than profit.

55 hp Mo/D Hard Mode. Outside bergen hotsprings, clear all the undead then zone into cursed lands.
Should get quite a bit of glittering dust as well as some nice drops. There is usually also a locked chest in cursed lands.

This is the fastest way to get dust; I've also soloed them on my warrior. The Shadow Army in Fissure is very good as well; they drop dark remains which average 15 dust per salvage.
edit: Touch Ranger works absurdly well against the Fog Nightmares.
