Yah, i didn't put much effort into the blacking out, the SS Necro is pretty standard build.

This thread was started in the Canthan Explorer's League, and for some reason the admin/moderators fealt it should be moved to the Farming/Builds catagory.

I posted this to say "Hey, we did this, can anyone else do this?"

I have no intentions of posting the build or strategy at this time. In the future, when people actually figure out the 9 man run, I will post how to do the 6 man run.

Actually, you can probably get it down to five people.

To get into the Aspect of Depletion, have someone run AoD, get right next to the wall, cast it on the Outcasts, open the gate, then end AoD and run through before it shuts. Various Recals can be ended, people can be rebirthed, etc.

I have thought about that. The major downfall is what do you get rid of? Need atleast 2 warriors using Icy's to interupt nightmare refuge (or some damn good disrupting blow timing), SS Necro for the SS + Shivers + BR, atleast 2 monks are required if you want to live, it's a stress on the monks. And the Elementalist is needed for cleaning up the extra baddies that the SS doesn't catch, and for KD on the Aspects and Kanaxai. As it is i'm now using a recall monk for going through the Gates (Bring bane signet and icy weapon... Icy/KD/Recall Monk LFG.. lol), and the SS Sacs himself/Herself, so we don't leave anyone behind.

It seems my friend is a bit excitable.

Anyway, running the Deep with a 6 man team was quite exciting. For those of you wondering about the builds, well, there really isn't anything "super secret" about them. They're fairly standard ideas tweaked to individual styles. As Lich mentioned, most of us in our group can run multiple professions. I've managed to complete my Rit and now have run Necro, Warrior, Monk, Ele, and Rit in our 9 man team. We don't even necessarily run the same builds as another member of the crew would in the same slot.

The most important thing is that we've been doing 1-2 runs almost nightly since shortly after Factions came out. Originally we started in 12 man PuG groups to get the hang of the run. Eventually, we started making 12 man "mostly" friend groups. Then a few of us started talking about what was needed and what wasn't. The most obvious things that weren't needed was a BiP, a 4th monk, and more than 1 ele. So the 9 man group was born.

As Lich mentioned, we've done the run enough times that each person knows what everyone else should be doing at any given time. Our general knowledge of the run and confidence in each other is more important to successfully completing the run than most anything else.

My advice for anyone else that wants to run The Deep is this... start running with friends if you can, or in a PuG that seems fairly organized. Whenever you make a run, note down the names of those that seemed to know what they were doing, and did well during the run. Then, when you start forming your next team, see if those same people are available and want to run again. Eventually, you'll build up a list of names and can form regular teams. Once you get a group of competent and reliable teammates, you're gold.

Anyway, i've got a screenshot of the victory too... I'm not going to bother blacking out my build.

First of all, congratulations.

I usually do urgoz runs with 3-4 people and it takes us about 2:30 hours. I
haven't invented this build, but I do believe I'm one of the first to
suggest using Grenth's balance after the EoE nerf. I'd be happy to join you guys, I have 5 pve characters so I can play nearly anything and I like working on new builds, especially high end ones like the one you are suggesting.

are you going to post the 9-man build?

I'm still working on the strategy portion of the 9 man guild, once it is done, i'll post it on the guildwiki, and post a link to it here (wiki code looks much nicer). People who are messaging me saying they would like to come, I sugest you get some friends together, and practice the 9 man build first.. once you get that down, let, me know, and we'll see about doing some 6 man runs.

me and my friend have this profession aviable at the moment:
WARRIOR+WARRIOR
or
WARRIOR+MONK
or
NECRO+WARRIOR (but not really a tank since i use gladiator's armor)
or
NECRO+MONK

what should we start with?
I feel that a monk duty in the deep is a bit stressing (and since I'm a noob at the deep I could make all the team die ^^)

Congrats guys, really good job.

Don't really see the point in blanking out the builds, and not sharing them... Thanks for sharing, though, Vyral.

Build isn't 100% of a success. It's also personal skill. Good job to the 6 people you go in with.

If you are going to 9 man the deep, then you need the following professions:

3 x Warrior/Assassins (With Recall)
3 x Monk/Whatever (OoH, Dwayna's Kiss, WoH, HB, HP, Healing Seed, Signet of Rejuvination, Rebirth). Basically you have to use the signet a lot because you have no BiP
1 x Ritualist/Whatever (With Ashes of Naomei, Shelter, Recuperation, Ritual Lord, Boon of Creation, couple more i'm not sure of)
1 x Necromancer/Mesmer (Spiteful Spirit, Reckless Haste, Arcane Echo, Defile Enchantments, Desecrate Enchantments, Well of Blood, Blood Ritual, Spinal Shivers/Shivers of Dread)
1 x Elementalist/Monk, or Mesmer (Either Echo Nuker, or Glyph of Renewal Nuker) If you go monk, bring Rebirth.

Strategy will follow at some point. Most Important things to remember:

1. NO Wanding the Oni's
2. NO Meteor Shower while the SS is working, Elementalists is an assistant to the Necro, means you clean up what SS doesn't kill. You CAN us Meteor Shower on the Aspects and Kanaxai.
3. Room 2 HAS to fight, and is usually the first room to clear.

Rooms:

1 - W/A, Monk, SS Necro
2 - W/A, Monk, Ritualist
3 - W/A, Monk, Elementalist

Room 2 Quick Strategy:

Ritualist Create Spirits to block off the War and the Casters, then W/A pull aspect first and stay behind the spirits, let the spirits do most of the killing and you do KD. then pull Carb, Jelly fish, and Manta's.

Since Kanaxai drops greens every time you kill him, you do tend to get greens, I haven't gotten anything in the last week (about 13 runs). but it's not just the greens your there for. There's the 5 Deep Jade Chests, and gold drops that you get along the way. A lot of times someone gets a double drop from Kanaxai as well.

humm yes but my question was: since i'm a noob in the deep, should i play as a warrior or as a monk? I think a warrior could be more simple

Haha, sorry, I got confused about the question.

Warrior is by far easier to do that monking, but you still need to use some strategy when tanking. Things like:

1. Whats the KD order, cuz you can't all use shove at the same time?
2. Who is lead puller, and who are the walls?
3. Is there someone in your agro bubble when you go to agro. If someone is in your bubble, you lose agro and it becomes a mess.

Monking isn't hard, but it's harder than being a tank. In a 9 man group, you have no BiP, and the Necro only does BR when he's got nothing else going on, which isn't very often. So you really have to manage your own energy wisely. That's the hardest part. You have to do things like call your Healing Seeds so you don't overlap with someone, or Call your Heal Parties so you don't end up wasting someone elses 15 energy. Use signets as much as you can, and use them on attacking warriors since they do more healing. Try to mix your skills, like only use Dwayna's Kiss on someone who has enchantments or hexes on them since it heals more, save WoH for when someone is below 50% for that extra kick.

There's a lot more, but that'll come with experience.. So basically, try both, and see what feels more comfortable I guess.
