Bringing one or two spells (maybe conjure nightmare, since you don't use energy for anything else) would give you something to do in the downtime.

I would say there are a few things you have to remember in a signet build, especially Me/Mo.
I prefer Keystone Signet+Mantra of Inscriptions, allowing you to use your signets 2 times in 12 seconds or so. Mantra of Signets just costs too much for what I'm about to suggest.
You don't need energy for much. Bring Purge Sig, please. It basically owns all hexing/conditions teams. If you're going smiting, it will be well worth your while to put Holy Wrath on your tanks, you monks, or whoever else is getting beaten on. Just remember to renew MoI. My advice = use Leech Sig while spamming the button for Mantra, so your leech sig fuels your mantra. Or cast it when you happen to have the energy and upon recharge. Either usually works.
There are lots of sigs available, change them up and out depending on where you are.
Izzy LOVES signet builds, so get into them, they'll probably get buffs along the line. And sig of distraction from GWEN is absolutely amazing.
