I've been doing the Hidden city with 600 and Smiter, me and hero.
Takes 3 minutes to kill the Djinns at the beginning

It says there that there is a less than 1% chance to get a ruby or a sapphire, that isn't official of course but it isn't exactly common to get the drops there.

Hmm. Usually you need something like 15 regen, because of bleeding.
How the hell do you get SO good drops? I never got Necro tome there, or so many Dead Swords... well, I've got only 2 swords from that run -.-

I farmed Djinns in Hidden City with my 130hp dervish for a while, salvaging essenses. No luck however - I didn't get any ruby or sapphire. They way I bought my Vabbian was a time-limited price drop on rubies and sapphires, they were about 1-1,5k per one for a few hours that night. So I think the best place to farm those is Kodash Bazar or any place with rare material trader

I got a ruby while farming Mantids at Province Kinya near the assassin boss.

Edit: Wardens at Arborstone (explorabel) drop rubies and sapphires too. They are very easy to farm with a warrior or with the Spiteful Spirit build for Incetol.
