Default Use of Clamor of Souls Elite?

Does any Ritualist Lover find a best way to use Clamor of Souls? I like Channeling magic field very much, though I'm not sure the best use of this elite. (I'm talking about both Pve and PvP or AB or Aspenwood)

All I can think is.... use it when melee character try to charge in to u? (but
probably Grasping was Kuurong elite with knockdown are better)

Clamor can only hit the same foe once? If my memory didn't crack... I believe I saw monster got hit by this spell more then once (I might be wrong)

And does anyone try use the spell when there is no ally around? I tried it in the temple of bal wooden dummy. Clamor still does dmg.... (probably because the NPC beside are consider ally too)

I will be very appreicate if anyone can show me how they make best use for this elite spell. Thanks )

It's worthless, sorry. Ancestor's rage, cruel was daoshen, a couple of non elites, are way better than it

Yup, as always, I'm finding myself agreeing with the good Dr.
Non-elite point-blank type Rt spells are far better, more versatile and... well... Non-Elite.
Besides, you don't particualrly want to be at point-blank range for the most part anyways.

You hit with Clamor of Souls because you're considered as an ally.

I personally like the spike you can get from Spirit Rift + Ancestor's Rage. Even in HM it hits at least 150 dmg, and it's still non-elite, although it is a 2 skill chain and requires 20 Energy. If you REALLY want to use an Elite Channeling Magic Skill, I like... Destructive was Glaive, for the large damage and the range (In the Area is the biggest range you can get in the game).

blech. CoS is the single worst rit elite IMHO. If they increased the range to "in the area" or even "adjacent" it might be of some worth to echo spike some people in conjunction with ancestor's/spirit rift. But nearby is about as useful as touch in this skill. total garbage. If you like channeling, go with either [skill]Destructive was Glaive[/skill] (added DPS, but always bring essence strike because it puts A LOT of pressure on your energy!) or [skill]Attuned was Songkai[/skill] is ALWAYS a good option because you can chuck out masses of spirit rifts, ancestor's rages, etc etc or even go with [skill]Offering of Spirit[/skill]. I put 2 e management skills up because remember, it doesn't matter HOW much damage you can do if you are out of energy =D

Nearby is bigger than adjacent.

Thanks for everyone's opinions. I see a lot of people like Destructive was Glaive Elite. Personally I like Signet of Spirits Channeling elite the most.
(Similar to Offering of Spirit... u gain same amount energy by the end)

It's free signet, and I always have Bloodsong or even Destruction spirit with me to work with Signet of Spirit.

I guess most people doesn't like Channeling elite eh? I believe Caretaker's Charge elite would be wonderful. (I gave it to Razah hero) However I did not progress that far with my Rt in NF.

I was just trying to cap every channeling elites and find Clamor of Souls having potential to be useful, guess I was wrong then.... If it's really crappy maybe I'd just use something else. Thanks for all the reply~

Nah, offering of spirit gives you more energy thanks to the 15 second recharge, and you're capable of using it even when you don't have a spirit up.

I'd consider using clamor of souls if the range was earshot for the damage, otherwise, it's crap.

Caretaker's charge is ok, but as a rule offering of spirit is really nice, and rit non-elite damage spells are good enough to begin with. In the right team build, weapon of fury can be hilariously effective.

Minions and spirits work as allies as well.

I've used it a couple times for a laugh in huge missions like Vizunah Square and whatnot (ones where multiple MMs and many enemies) as it's a pretty neat skill when the conditions are right.

I wish the radius was a bit larger, though. That would make the condition much easier to hit and be useful. It's not completely terrible in some very remote spots, but I think that other Elites outshine it for pure effectiveness.

I wish the functionality of the skill changed to function something like this....

Clamor of Souls
Clamor of souls targest the nearest enemy. For every ally within earshot, clamor of souls branches to a foe near the enemy. Clamor of souls cannot hit the same enemy more than once.

Basically, the range would be nearby the enemy, not you. So it could really branch out into a crowd, making a real "clamor".

Example:

X
4 allies U X X X
X

I this setting, clamor would normally only hit the nearest 2 Enemies.
Under my setting, clamor would hit the nearest enemy, the first enemy in the line, and the rest of the foes, even though they are quite far away from you.
=) I think it would add more functionality.

OR add this clause...

"The same foe cannot be hit more than 1...2..3 times. (with 2 at rank 12, and 3 at rank 16). Every time a foe is effected more than once, Clamor of Souls is disabled for 10 seconds."

This wording allows for some serious spike damage...the skill damage would probably have to decrease because of it. It may beat it to unusable levels in PvE though... Because the skill is disabled, this should prevent using Arcane Echo to copy it...maybe some strange Arcane mimicry build using Assassin's Promise on another character could work....but that'd be super gimmicky.

I've done this as well just for fun. While its not really effective anywhere besides missions with afflicted because these creatures tend to be quite large in number, and usually occur in close swarms.

But aside from the occasional high damage spread effect that occurs only once in a blue moon this skill is completely worthless

I agree with few user's comment.

I thought about "IF" Anet can functionally change Clamor's skill similar to TGgold's opinion... or simply just go "target foe take 94 lighting dmg, and for each ally near u, the nearby foe also take 94 dmg etc." If it's like this I'd totally love Clamor of Souls elite.

And oops.... sorry yeah I just checked Offering of Spirit elite, it is shorter recharge time. And I do like the skill give u benefit on working it with or without any spirits (though I often use green channeling staff that give me +60hp.... 17% hp lost sound scary.... in pvp anyway)

Now I just have to progress my Rt further in NF for this elite ><!

Weapon of fury elite << hehe.... I thought about it on using it with a Warrior team, and I was like oh my Warrior guildie will love it when I cast it on them if they're using lots of Adrenaline. I'm very close to capture this elite. Guess this is better then Clamor eh?
