Default Me/X Mass Degeneration

Hey, i've been using this build a lot and I think it really works. I've gotten many compliments whenever I ping my build in a party intead having a "eww we don't need a mesmer," comment. I just thought i'd share it. (It's a PvE build by the way.)

Mass Degeneration Mesmer

Skills:
[skill]Radiation Field[/skill][skill]Ether Nightmare[/skill][skill]Signet of Illusions[/skill][skill]Auspicious Incantation[/skill][skill]Conjure Nightmare[/skill]

There are three optional slots. I use [skill]Smooth Criminal[/skill] for small energy gain and to sometimes remove a powerful skill. I also use [skill]Clumsiness[/skill] to cause some quick powerful damage. The last one is your choice. You could also use some kind of interupt or maybe [skill]Images of Remorse[/skill].

Attributes:
Illusion - 12 (+1+3)
Fast Casting - 12 (+1)

Usage:
Once you get into the mission or explorable area immediatley use Signet of Illusions. Then you will find your first group. This is where you decide to use one of two skills. If it is a group that seems bunched together use Ether Nightmare, if it is a group of foes that are scatter use Auspicious Incantation and then Conjure Nightmare and then reload your Signet of Illusion. Try to always have it up. Your Signet of Illusion will make Ether Nightmare give all foes -8 health degeneration and Auspicious Incantation will give you double your next spells energy. Also if remember to use Radiation Field if there are any foes Nearby you. They will have -6 health degen and then have disease for 20 seconds if you had Signet of Illusions up.

In short, you will always keep Signet of Illusion up. If there is a group clumped you use Ether Nightmare and Radiation Field. Then spam Auspicious Incantation and Conjure Nightmare. Use Smooth Criminal if there are any casters are ound and then use Clumsiness on melee characters to finish off foes.

Equipment

Any max armor is fine with all Radiant Insignias for energy. Also use a Sup Illusion Rune and if you want a minor Fast Casting rune. Prefferably I would use a 20% Illusion Regen weapon but it doesn't really matter because your most powerful skills will all be PvE only. All try to use a +5 energy weapon just for that added energy bonus even though you probably won't need it.

Good Luck! I want comments and critism.

Well its a good idea, but it could use a little work. First, if you don't already know degen cant stack past -10. The pve skills+sig of illusions have always made a great combo, but having only 1 pve skill, this seems a bit of a waste imo. Instead of smooth criminal for energy, i would use something like power dran and/or leach sig. Clumsiness is great in pve. As for a pve skill, assasin support+sig of illusions is great. I would drop radiation field or images of remorse for it. If you are going for a degen build, you should really have phantasm. Ai + nightmare isn't really efficient or spammable long term. If you are willing to drop the pve only skills, crippling anguish may be good elite instead of sig. Also another great use for sig of illusions is arcane larceny/thievery, which allows you to steal skills and use them powered by SoI.

I've always loved using signet of illusions with the PvE title skills...they are usually more powerful than a maxed title. If you ditch smooth criminal I would def get cry of pain in there, with 13 fast casting the SoI should be easy enough to spam. Maybe ditch a fast casting point or two to get inspiration up, that way auspicious really fuels your energy with conjure night.

Signet of Illusions + Ether Nightmare, Cry of Pain, Signet of Corruption are nice damage.

I need to get that Asura Skill ;P

i just went through all the trouble of gettin my SS rank to r8 so that CoP would become more effective (it's worth it though). I often use this build:
Mantra of recovery
Cry of Pain
arcane echo
auspicious incantation
P-drain/discharge enchantment/ Waste Not Want Not
Rez chant

then i go 15 illusion or 15 domination depending on what i feel like doing,

if i go domination the two additional skills are empathy and backfire

if i go illusion i use arcane conundrum and shrinking armor

I think the best way to do widespread damage would have to be
SoI + Ether Nightmare.

This allows you to spread Hexes continuously on all surround areas. I use this often and I find it very effective.
