Default Why do people like LoD so much?

I have been wondering what elite to put on my healer hero and many of the people I ask reply with LoD. I was just wondering why do people like this skill so much? The amount of health it restores is relatively small and it is severely conditional (only works on targets under 80% HP). The only advantage it has over other healing spells is that it heals the entire party.

That's the point right there.

One usually won't heal anybody when they're at 80%, therefore the 80% condition isn't really much of a condition. Also, considering PvE's widely scattered damage (sometimes), LoD shines.

Unless you're using a tank. Can't help you there, then.

LoD is extremely energy efficient for the amount that it heals. Assuming your entire team is under pressure (AoE, environmental degen, disease, etc.), it will heal for 75 * Number of people in your party.

In addition, it has a quick recharge and a quick cast time. Even heroes can't mess it up. =]]

I'm pretty sure it's an even stronger heal than orison (without counting divine favor), even if you're only healing one target. Might be wrong though since I never use orison anymore...

Requiring a teammate to be hurt before you can heal it isn't much of a condition.

I usually go with LoD prot monk. As for pure healer, i prefer Healer's boon.

to the OP, there's a Holy Haste healer build on PvXWiki that uses LOD

it's an effective healer build, and energy efficient

read the directions for use and try it...think you'll like.

In PvE it's a cheap and quick party heal. Sure you can use heal party, but that's 10 more energy. In PvP this is a good skill for runners because it'll heal everyone in the party. For non-monk primaries this skill is useful in that because it heals everyone, you aren't so penalized for not having any points in divine favor.

From Guildwiki
Quote:
When your entire Party has under 80% life Light of Deliverance heals about 600HP for 5 Energy. (120HP per energy point). This makes Light of Deliverance one of the most potent healing spells - especially when you encounter massive AoE damage or degeneration.
