Aftershock or Crystalwave/Tenai's Crystal?
Well I've made up my mind that if I use Sand Storm I'll use Crystal wave/Tenai's Crstals
But if I use Unsteady Ground (since it can knockdown) and thus shockwave's conditional damage will be met; does that mean shockwave is better? I find sometimes it's kinda hard to always come adjacent to a kockdowned enemy in time. So which should I use as my main adjacent foe attack? Aftershock or shockwave?
thanks

Shockwave is ALWAYS better than CW/TC.
Compare the two.
Aftershock: 10 e ||| 3/4 cast ||| 10 recharge
Adjacent foes are struck for 26...85...105 earth damage. Knocked down foes are struck for 10...56 additional earth damage.
CW/TC: 15 e ||| 3/4 cast ||| 20 recharge
Foes adjacent to you are struck for 10...82...106 damage, but are cured of any negative Conditions.
Aftershock has: Same range, less mana cost, same cast, less recharge, conditional damage.
CW/TC has: Same range, more mana cost, same cast, more recharge, removes ENEMY conditions, ignores armor.

Possible uses for CW/TC:
You have some faggot Conviction Dervish on your team.
CW/TC your enemies, Dervish dies.

like he said, aftershock is always better. you should only be using CW/TC if you already have aftershock on your bar.

While I agree aftershock is better, the previous posters didn't emphasize some points directly when comparing damage.
Aftershock deals earth damage, which doesn't ignore armor. Often in PvE mobs have 100 armor, effectively reducing the damage by half (so at 16 earth, you'd be doing ~50 damage with additional ~30 conditional damage). Crystal wave does direct unconditional damage, which means it'll hit for 106 direct damage regardless of armor. In that case aftershock does slightly less damage, but the faster recharge, lower energy cost, and no removal of conditions makes it very nice.

Crystal Wave has a larger AoE than Aftershock, for reasons unknown. It isn't all that significant though.

If your not relying on conditions, the armor ignoring ones are better. If you rely on conditions, try Earthquake, Dragon Stomp, Shockwave.
MS > Savannah heat > Bed of coals > Flame Djinns haste still rox the sox off the Earth AoE skills for PVE though.

in a team based game you dont takes skills that could disrupt someone elses build. that means no removing conditions from enemys.
