Recommend me some Armor to go with Destroyer Gloves
So I finally decided to upgrade my wars droks armors (knights/glads) and my 1st thing was an impulse buy on some destroyer gauntlets. Now I don't know what armor to get to go with it. I am looking for something that will match. Have to able to dye black or close to it. I prefer some sort of short sleeved armor cuz I think the Destroyer gauntlets dont blend in with armor and leaves a gap. Any ideas or pics would be appreciated.
Thx!

A tough one. A lot of the chest pieces have partial pieces extending from the shoulders to the elbow.
The only ones that don't are:
Vabbian
Ancient
Norn
Dwarf
Dwarf CANNOT be added to the Hall of Monuments, if that matters to you at all.

Elite Gladiator armor has the metal arm piece going from the shoulder to the hand, that would look bad cut in half by gauntlets.

Yeah, Elite glads has the elbow piece:
My favorite Elite Armor, but I wouldn't mix it with the Destroyer Gloves.
The regular Gladiator works, though:
You could always get the Elite Glad pieces except for the chest piece.

That's because "Dwarf" isn't an armor set, just a bunch of various common armor pieces to customize your look. The actual armor set from the Dwarves is Silver Eagle.
Back on topic, I use Ancient Armor with mine, looks pretty good. I saw another warrior doing it with Norn Armor, and the skulls and such made it look pretty bad ass.

good info so far. thx.
i have or had a glads set somewhere and thought of that too, but not really the look i am going for. but who knows..
i was looking at eagle and monument.. but i hate the eagle helm and i am not sure how that dark red on monument will look with look with the gauntlets. it's too bad the didn't design the gauntlets to blend in with armor. i guess that would take away from it looking like it was sewn on skin. i am thinking that it would work best with any armor that will dye black. i might try monument. eagle would be interesting if it had a different helm.

well after farming the heck out of charr, i was able to upgrade too my monument armor. at 1st i planned on mixing and matching different armors, but the suit looks decent and now i'll probably only try different helms with it. i thought that if i dyed it black, the red would show thru, but it didnt really come out enough. so i dyed with a mixture of orange and red initially and later darkened the helm and leggings to bring out the glowing hands.
the 1st pic is of my old knights armor.
the ones in the lava is dyed all red and orange.
the rest in the snow, show it red and orange and the leggings/helm darkened.
the chest and boots are the same as the pics in the lava, but i think it was darker in the snow so it doesn't show as well.
looks ok imo in town, but looks pretty decent when geared up for fighting.

Sorry to say it, but that combination is hideous (in my opinion)...The problem is that the chest piece has sleeves that go all the way down to the elbow, which makes the Destroyer gauntlets look really bad.
You would be much better off by trying some of the suggestions above.

I've figured there'd be some people who didn't like it. At 1st I was sure I wouldn't.... I wanted armor that looked full and I didn't like horns or want another set of glads. I don't care for the short sleeve, but the color combo looks pretty good together. I still might dye it all black.
I think there's supposed to be a new elite set. So if this doesnt work for me, I'll finish this set (gloves) for tanking (no weapon runes/all various dmg/hex reduc/elem prot runes) and get another set to use with gloves.

the basics of those gloves : don't take an armor that the gloves matches with the chest piece. (I.E. elite glads. (see warrior's right arm))
now for an example of an armor that would work well with the gloves. normal glads armor. again thats only an example.
see Pliskin MacReady's pics for the kinds of armors that would work well with destroyer gauntlets
