Runes that say non-stacking will not stack with runes of the same type.
For example, all the vigor runes, minor, major, and superior, are non stacking, so having more than one of ANY vigor rune will NOT allow for the health boosts to stack.
In other words, if you have 2 minor vigors, you'll only have a boost of +30 health. If you have a minor vigor and a major vigor equipped
(on separate pieces of armor),
the rune with the greater effect (the major vigor) will have the apparent effect.
(you'll get +41 hp instead of 30, but not 41 + 30)
on the other hand. if you have a vigor and a vitae (+10 hp) they will stack
(vitae does not = vigor; not the same type of rune, so the effects are going to stack)
and if you have more vitae runes on other pieces of armor, since the vitae runes do stack, you'll have 10 hp added to your life total for each vitae rune you have equipped....
Hope I didn't get redundant... xD
EDIT: You are only allowed one rune on each piece of armor. If you try to place another rune on a piece of armor that already has a rune, the previous rune will be destroyed, and, as you might have guessed, the destroyed rune is replaced by the one you put in the armor.
